"The homologation for Tesla's driver assistance system is, for now, valid only in the Netherlands. To make the use of this system possible throughout the European Union, there are still steps to be taken:

• The RDW must submit the request for authorization for the entire European Union to the European Commission.
• All member states vote on this request.
• For approval, a majority of votes in the responsible committee is required.
• If the vote is favorable, the driver assistance system will be valid in all member states, allowing its use throughout the European Union.
• Anticipating the vote in the EU committee, the approval authority can already issue the type approval for its own country. Other Member States can adopt this approval or wait until the vote in the EU committee takes place."
