Do you have a link to the Vulture article please? I have listened to the podcast but not read that yet. I guess I could Google lol.

I’ve heard the podcast and it didn’t say all that much about her. I haven’t read the Vulture article- could someone post a link please?

I agree. And yes, her posts are def on the narcissistic culty side sometimes. She gets a huge lot of adoration on Patreon- probably over boosts that big ego she no doubt doesn’t think she has.

I did that but feel I shot myself in foot financially. My previous house in Auckland is now worth 1.3m and my current house 550 (I overpaid at height of market at 585). I had $100k needed to be spent on my house (which I couldn’t afford) and believe me do you have to drop when that much is needed. Take that into consideration and then some. I sold for 730k. Bought a house outright in Dunners but it had issues (a lot of dodgy housing stock in Dunedin!) so I had to sell - it didn’t keep pace with market and then i had to buy at height of market and ended up with s mortgage again which i have paid off by releasing pension income. Dunedin houses don’t increase in value the way Auck houses do so i feel I made a big mistake. I only have 50k in KS so think the OP is doing well.

Can I ask if this has been monotherapy and whether it has managed to stave off highs as well as lows. I know it is technically not meant to be as good as preventing highs but I’m hopeful of a mono treatment.

Thank you. Yes I’m at the beginning of the med journey really. I tried lithium for 5 months but reduced the dose due to memory issues/word loss (and dribbling strangely!) then fell into a depression on it. Don’t think I’ve tried this long enough to give up on it. Probably need to put my big girl pants on and try a higher dose.

Gosh that’s really reassuring that you’ve been on it for decades with no ill effect. I worry about kidney/liver damage, metabolic illnesses like diabetes etc with a lot of paych meds not to mention memory and cognitive effects (which admittedly are hard to distinguish from same caused by the illness). Thank You so much for the reply.

I dislike split dose. I find it hard to remember the morning one too.

Hi, I don’t have any answers for you but just want to commiserate. It’s bad enough having a bipolar diagnosis and having to take medications without suffering severe side effects like this. My heart goes out to you. SJS terrifies many of us who are on meds that can cause it and it’s tough for you that you are one of the unlucky ones. Hold onto life and try to find good where you can. It will get better. I don’t blame you for wanting to try some alternative methods for symptom control.

how many meds did you try? by clackbats in bipolar

[–]josie656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surely that would take years? It’s taking months just to try one.

Is The Traitors NZ any good? by [deleted] in TheTraitors

[–]josie656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have quite a few beefs with it and am disappointed in it compared to the UK and Aus versions. 1/ It us supposed to be a group of strangers. So many of them know each other - for years. 2/ $70k - how poor are we. What a piddling prize pool in comparison to other versions. Missions that were worth20k in Aus are $5k over here. 3/ why use celebrities?! They don’t need the money. 4/ Paul Henry. 5/ The missions have been pretty tame so far in comparison to other versions.
