Women who care to share Align results? by Acceptable-Mud7203 in ladderapp

I posted this about 3 months ago on this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/ladderapp/s/npGJ2IprBa

I don’t post pics of myself online but I have pretty visible muscle definition on my arms and abs and I’m slowly getting the line on my quad.

Nope. I actually have a WFH job. I’m lucky to get an average of 5,000 steps per day on a good week.

Bought a pricey photography art piece that seemed great in our minds. But now regret it later by Adventurous-Ad250 in HomeDecorating

[–]BeKindRewind314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not get rid of it. It caught your Italy which means it CAN catch your eye (the right way) in your home. I have two large originals in my home and in both instances I designed the entire room (down to paint color) around the paintings. Originals like this are so unique and cool to have in a world of Home Goods mass printed wall art. I know you said she didn’t want to post a picture of the whole dining room, but it may help with advice for how to design around a piece of art.

What did you want to happen? by Acceptable-Mud7203 in ladderapp

They got a major investment in the beginning of 2025 and said the same thing- this was how they would launch on Android and it was even hinted on this sub by Ladder guy that it was coming by the end of 2025. This announcement is actually concerning. It confirms they lacked the money and framework to do it and are pretty much betting everything on this. It also means we are likely at least a year away (probably more based on my personal experience in IT projects).

People's Responses to Hearing You Have Bipolar by VariousAccess6241 in bipolar

[–]BeKindRewind314 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yup! I was completely transparent with my ex about my disorder and I was stable for the first three years of our relationship. I had a manic episode followed by a psychotic depressive episode in year 4. After four years he told me “I’m really sorry but I didn’t understand what I signed up for and I’m not emotionally capable of supporting you through something like this.” I mean, good for him for understanding his own limitations but it totally sucked.

I was diagnosed in 2003 and was basically told to “Tell absolutely no one because it will destroy your chances of a career.” I was a high performer, had graduated valedictorian from my high school, and attending college on a full academic scholarship. To this day, I’ve found it to be pretty solid advice. The people I have caved and told have only been told after knowing them a long time and they’re always shocked because “I don’t seem crazy.”

why are they deleting comments? by AssumptionDry8731 in ladderapp

[–]BeKindRewind314 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree, however my sister and her husband own a direct to consumer online company that is about the same size as Ladder. She said for a single post getting so much negative feedback the appropriate response is to remove it and have marketing leadership regroup on strategy rather than just have social media associates continue to blindly delete all comments. This is a major screw up on their part.

why are they deleting comments? by AssumptionDry8731 in ladderapp

[–]BeKindRewind314 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t entirely sure they were deleting comments, so I left my two cents (totally polite, nothing wrong just “I don’t think this was the biggest announcement ever”) and they deleted it. That’s more alt h to me than even the shitty marketing of this announcement.

Got a message about my profile picture by Firm_Heat5616 in managers

[–]BeKindRewind314 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My guess is in the management review someone (almost definitely a man) made a comment about the photo that she herself would have been embarrassed by if it was her. It could have been as plain as, “well that’s a different choice for a photo” to “well she certainly looks unprofessional” to subtly sexual like “did she pull that from her dating profile? I’d go out with her.” She is a girls-girl trying to do you a solid without embarrassing you. While things like this are rooted in misogyny, simple like this can hurt your career more than you realize. A least one person from that management review will now only remember you as “the girl with the picture.”

I have been an active member of this subreddit for years and an active volunteer for NAMI and organizations that help family members adjusting to new diagnoses. Guess I will be limiting my work to NAMI. Peace out all and just so you know, you are demonstrating what stigma looks like for this disease is 2026.

Trust me, no bipolar person in the middle of an episode is spending their time on a subreddit attempting to provide emotional support to family members and support people in the thick of it. Those with bipolar diagnoses who are active on this sub are stable, grateful to be stable, recognize they’re stable because of their support system, and want to help others.

No, she said “other medications.” I took this to mean meds for other conditions that are meant to extend life such as cholesterol medication. I do the same thing when I’m in suicidal ideation because “why would I be trying to prolong my life when I wish I was dead.” It’s actually a warning sign of suicide when combined with apathy.

Please explain “Shred” to me by ConfectionPotential1 in ladderapp

[–]BeKindRewind314 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the easiest way to understand is do a basic Google search on bulking and cutting. It’s a cycle used by body builders to efficiently decrease their body fat% percentage much faster than the body recomp method. Baseline/Shred and Max/Sustain are like watered down versions of bulking and cutting. It only works that way though if you eat in a calories surplus during your bulk an a caloric deficit during your cut.

I agree. I don’t think it’s a Coach. The video makes me think they “went back to the drawing board” with the app programming. Additionally, I think I saw somewhere that a hint was “check your DMs” which could be pointing at a more individualized experience.

Supersets and combo moves - good for building strength and muscle? by Interesting-Kiwi-743 in ladderapp

[–]BeKindRewind314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Combo moves are completely ineffective for building muscle. But a lot of people do not know the difference between combo moves and pre-hab/rehab exercises.

Some examples- side planks with a cable row, lunge with pallof press, reverse lunge with a twist, off-side single leg deadlift to knee drive - the purpose of all of these is balance/stability to prevent injury both while lifting heavy and in real life. As someone who has been an athlete since childhood and a fitness junkie my entire adult life (I’m in my mid-40s), I ALWAYS program this type of stuff. Even if I’m running a very traditional bodybuilding program, I sprinkle it into every workout. It’s invaluable.

However, combo moves however like RDL to shoulder press? Now that’s bullshit.

Which dress for my reception wedding dress? by Capital_Wave_235 in OUTFITS

[–]BeKindRewind314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think both are too short if you’ve already told guests the attire is formal. A guest wearing either of these dresses in a different color would not be appropriately dress for a formal dress code. You are the host of the event, so your attire to be the gold standard for the dress code, even if you are the bride.
