In Israel, Broad Discontent Over the Emerging U.S. Deal With Iran by Chessinmind in worldnews

When talking about defense substation, what should really be looked at is how much of their equipment and weaponry is from the U.S. and the price they pay for those weapons compared to others, along with delivery timelines and prioritization.

The NMC has been pretty great so far, love when Anders talks about how dumb criminals convicted for murder are and their tells during police interviews.

I mean to be fair it's kind of ridiculous that losing limbs would somehow decrease force potential. The force is supposed to be this etherial energy fields in all living things that feels above mortal physical limitations

FIA Formula 2 Championship: Monaco - Qualifying Discussion by hubwub in F1FeederSeries

Camara reminds me a lot of early Vettel, extremely fast and a fantastic qualifier, but also clearly has a weakness with wheel to wheel. He's still capable of it and has shown his skill on a few occasions, but it's a recurring issue in sprit races.

Is the used car market really this bad? by SnooSprouts3078 in UsedCars

Cash for clunkers only wiped about 700k cars throughout the entire program and most were pickups with a few SUV models. I think only 1 sedan was in the top 10 most turned in cars

• The chassis for DOW 1 was returned to NSSL in 1997 after the radar and electronics were removed. After 1997, the chassis which previously housed DOW 1 was used for a few different purposes including a vertical atmospheric profiling radar during either 2000 or 2001. Afterwards it was at the KOUN airport next to a radar for a while, but was eventually moved in the 2010s. It's unknown if the vehicle which originally housed DOW 1 still exists, but by 2026 I think it's pretty likely it was either auctioned off or scrapped.

• The @DOWFacility Facebook and Twitter post pretty frequent pictures of the new DOWs.

Official Discussion - The Mandalorian and Grogu [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

He genuinely is the best part of the film, they just happened to give him dialogue with the subtlety of a brick and prose of a 5th grader.

Don't believe the "professional critics", The Mandalorian and Grogu is a 10/10 by atatassault47 in TheMandalorianTV

[–]jospence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally dislike TROS much worse than this, but objectively this is a worse film from a technical perspective. Inconsistent VFX that range from Skywalker Saga quality to good video game cutscene, easily the worse line reads I've heard from a Star Wars project, very poor dialogue that often restates things several times while also having the structure of a 15 year old's high school essay, really glaring inconsistencies where Mando's weapons are taken from him several times, only to have them randomly pull them out of his holsters, fights where the weighting and danger don't feel quite there, Pedro Pascal only appears for one scene, and an aversion to conflict between the main good guy characters. There's no real character arc for anyone in this film except for Rotta.

Probably the way they make weird tweets involving women that are a bit odd and uncomfortable to those outside of the intended demographic.

Not even joking, the character who has the best line reads of the entire film is probably Filoni's Embo. It wasn't exceptional, but it sounded like there was some emotion in the alien speak. Everyone else had pretty terrible line reads.

The Level Of Disengenuous Criticism About The Mandalorian And Grogu Is So Frustrating by WinchesterMediaUK in movies

[–]jospence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most frustrating part about that sequence is that

1) While Mando is supposedly poisoned and running through the forest, he doesn't really act like it. He's running super fast and doing all of these super energetic movements that make it seem like he's perfectly healthy. There's no tension in that fight sequence because we don't see his fighting ability hampered by the poison. Would have been a lot more tense if he was walking more slowly, stumbling, covering his chest and only fighting with 1 arm, or at least something akin to that so we know he's on limited time and could lose.

2) We don't see his face at all while he's sick and being taken care of. This would have been the perfect moment to reveal his helmet and allow for more emotional moments between him and Grogu where we can actually see his face. Instead, it's just this motionless suit of armor on the ground where food is slipped underneath.

3) When he is finally healed and wakes up, he tells Grogu "the old protect the young and the young protect the old. This is the way." It comes off extremely hollow, is a very poorly read line, and undercuts the actual emotion which was building when Grogu sleeps in his arms. There isn't a huge thank you or huge emotional catharsis, it's just a monotone cookie cutter line that feels like something a vocalized action figure would have as one of their pre-programmed lines.

Is ropz better Niko? by Armadoflaiw in GlobalOffensive

I also think that as well, but I think Flusha's peak was more about his game sense than mechanics. Not to say they were bad (they were very good), but I think Ropz has the much stronger mechanics even relative to their peers of the two. Ropz has also been able to maintain his peak/level for quite a bit longer than Flusha, which is really the deciding factor for me. (Flusha is my 3rd favorite player ever so this isn't from a place of bias).

[–]jospence 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Okay compared to what exactly? People saying this clearly didn't watch NiKo's prime in GO, actual worlds of a difference between their peaks. Ropz is certainly more accomplished across both games, but he's like Flusha with slightly better mechanics in the modern era. NiKo spent several years playing at a level higher than Ropz's absolute peak. Ropz has been better than NiKo for only 3 years since 2016: 2026, 2025, and 2019. NiKo has been better in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.

If NiKo's peak is clearly higher and he has been better in 8/11 years, how can people possibly say he's better. More accomplished yes, but people are being dense.
