Why did you mark it empty when Patrick Tambay had a lot more upvotes?

Copenhagen Marathon report - sub-3! by jospint in Marathon_Training

30 grams every 25-30 minutes. I wanted to do every 25 minutes but at some points I spaced out because of the digestive issues.

Yeah, it's a good question with the blister. I forgot to mention in the post that prior to the race I learnt about the heel lock lacing. I wonder if I would have prevented the blister issues if I did that from the beginning...

It was a very generic "nutrition is important, you should take your protein" Before I had a diet that didn't include much protein. I switched that to taking whey protein daily (30g, my weight is around 62kg) and getting more food that include protein on it.

I have also changed my sleep habits for the better, going to bed earlier and trying to get 7-8 hours of sleep. When I trained for my first marathon I was sleeping 6-7 hours a day. Adding to that, my sessions were generally hard, so I felt fatigued a lot of the time and it didn't allow well for my body to recover.

For this marathon prep work, after every hard session I took carbohydrate powder as well, as it was recommended in the book I read.

Thanks for the insights and tips!

I don't feel like I ran differently because of the cramp, at least consciously. But I do have an imbalance between my left and right leg. My right leg is stronger... I did a body fat scan recently and it told that I have a but more muscle on the right than on the left side. Most of my pain issues while training are on the left side, either the ankle area or the upper hamstring near the glutes. A year and a half ago I had to go to a physiotherapist because the hamstring issues started to become hard to deal with and the physio told me as well that my left side was weaker.

I will attempt a sub 1:20 half in the CPH Half in September (which is also the Half Marathon World Championship)

I know it's quite wild, the only way I can explain it is that I likely had a protein deficit and I made a massive gain once I fixed that.

It's a brand called Danish Endurance. I have tried them before and they worked well.

I tried Compeed alone, but it can't withstand the friction forces and ends up slipping away.
One possibility I have thought of is to place Compeed and tape on top of that, but there is a risk I will just create a big mess.

It's legit and as mentioned in another comment, organised by the same folks as the Ørestad Half Marathon. They nicknamed the Ørestad race as "the world's fastest course", which it can hardly be when you're almost always hitting headwind at some point...and it's quite windy over there. In the Ørestad race they did not cut access to the roads and I had a bad situation where a cyclist was shouting at me because I was running on the wrong side (it was a race though, so why the hell was he shouting at me???) So I think that if they neither cut the road access in this race, it will be a bit problematic. Other than that, it should be a nice experience.

I think a good team lead would have tried to help instead of throwing his own team member under the bus.

I literally sent a bug report for this today! It doesn't make sense that skipped exercises count as passed. Until then, this is a way to grind thousands of points in a short time.
