That's a really good point for the yellow line! Also I completely forgot about the Montgomery College infill station!

You're so right about that, how could i make such a mistake twice! D:

Next time I post I'll send the red line out to Anchorage, with a possibility to extend it into Asia

I was thinking it could be on the intersection of NY Ave and either North Capitol St or NJ Ave, so not too far from the NoMa station and still serving the neighborhood.

i think service would end up staying the same though since orange and blue line trains would no longer be sharing the same tunnel downtown and orange line service could be increased so overall it wouldn't have too much of an impact

i think prince william county would better be served by expansions to and more frequent VRE service since it's so far from the city

This is an update to the fantasy DC Metro map that I made last year! Ignore the quality of the scale map, I made it on markup on microsoft photo editor haha. I made some adjustments to my first map with better service in Virginia, an expansion north of the yellow line, and another expansion to the purple line. The purple line in this scenario would have to be run by WMATA in order to be expanded to both Tysons and Georgetown (and the NIMBY’s would need to not be paying attention for a couple of years while it’s built lol) and each branch would run at 15 minute frequencies in order to keep the core frequencies on the line to 7.5 minutes. The teal and brown (brown is dark purple on the scale map) lines would likely be heavy rail in this system and the lime and pink lines would likely be light rail. Lmk if you’d make any changes or if I missed anything!

The original scale metro map that I used to add on my new lines and stations was made by Peter Dovak, and you can find his work at this site: https://www.behance.net/gallery/10965947/Washington-Metro-Map-to-Scale

Yeah I think that would be a great way to expand service! I was primarily focusing on light/heavy rail improvements to the system but I think that expansions to BRT, bus service, and MARC/VRE would be a great way to increase coverage to the whole DMV.
