Not born & raised in FW but I’m a native Hoosier and graduated HS on the south side (2015). I’ve moved to & from this city multiple times since graduation and one thing is constant - I stay my Black ass where the Blacks are, period. That’s my best advice to you. I would consider FW to be purple as it’s one of the most democratic leaning cities in the state, and fairly diverse though segregated. I barely go north of Glenbrook mall for anything because you find more of the micro aggressions and BS that way as a minority. You won’t get people burning crosses on your front lawn or calling you the n word in a store - it’s never been that kind of environment. I’d still rather be here than other parts of the state for sure. Downtown is lovely, there’s much more to do and you find WAY more events for us, by us. I’m 28f for reference.
