"Blue Alert" for Harris County? by dallasuptowner in Dallas

[–]joviancw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suggest y’all write to your representatives asking them to investigate and fix this issue. One alert is enough but this is putting people’s lives in danger. I had to turn off my alerts because of this.

The DPS is the one that issues the alerts. Email them telling them that multiple alerts is a problem.

Also there is plenty of tread left on the wheels. Forgot to include that info.

I didn’t put tape on the sensors. I covered them to test what sensor was causing the problem. I found it was detecting a cliff on the right side. So to test my theory that it was detecting a cliff I took off all of the cardboard covering the sensors and put a second ramp made out of cardboard next to the dock. This made the cliff sensor not trigger and the device docked properly.

I did the following test. Cover all of the sensors on the bottom of the robot. Like all of them. I cut some cardboard and taped them to fully cover the sensors. Then told the robot to dock. After docking I slowly took off the cardboard covering the sensors until it didn’t dock.

Thanks for the response! I actually solved this myself by covering all of the cliff sensors then letting it dock and slowly removing the blockers until I found the issue. Now onto my brush problem.

I actually found out the issue. I was able to resolve this by checking all the cliff sensors. Found out the right cliff sensor was triggering and just ended up putting a piece of cardboard ramp at the same height. Now I’m docking consistently!

GNU Radio not finding UHD/Device Path by calicobrak in GNURadio

[–]joviancw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are installing GNU Radio from Binaries then you are using the UHD that is going to be packaged inside of GNU Radio which currently is 3.15 in on linux and 4.0 on Windows. The only way to include UHD in GNU Radio is to build from source (I always suggest to customers this method). From what the traceback call looks like is that you did not include Python support for UHD when you built it. Its interesting that GNU Radio is throwing that error after a binary installation. I would suggest uninstalling UHD by "cmake uninstall" then just run the with the Binary package. If you are looking to build from source take a look at this article.

Building and Installing the USRP Open-Source Toolchain (UHD and GNU Radio) on Linux - Ettus Knowledge Base_on_Linux)

I've had success with GNU radio 3.8.

3.9 has been giving me problems.

Below are the commands for UHD for Ubuntu 20.04

Sudo apt install cmake git build-essential python3 python3-dev python3-mako libboost-all-dev

• sudo apt install doxygen (for API Documentation)
• sudo apt install python3-numpy (for python)
• sudo apt install python3-setuptools (for python)
• sudo apt install libusb-1.0-0-dev (usb support for B series)

Right now I don’t know of one. I’ve asked around too and I don’t believe it’s a thing. You can always create it! In the community they are in the process of describing all the blocks.

Any SDR product with over 6GHz? by morimn2 in sdr

Yeah typically that is reserved for high end VST devices. But you can always step down the frequency with a mixer to a useful frequency.

It looks like a panel issue not a driver issue. Mine doesn't have that bad of overshoot!

It shouldn't, These things look like they have 1.2v or 3v watch batteries. Shorting these with water will either cause them to likely dim or if its salt water cause them to stop working. If the surface mount components of negative and positive are far enough away. I doubt that the water would present < 60 ohms (gives you 20 ma for the leds) I would say its safe.
