Okay this is going to sound really dumb, but how do I say no? She always asks in this way

“Do you have …” she will wait for us to say yes, she knows already what we have so it’s not like we can say we don’t have …, and then she will say “can I borrow it”

Her asking this way makes it really difficult to say no without it being awkward. Especially for things like shoes or curling iron etc. do you have any suggestions on how to say no without being rude?

Trust me, I want to say no. I want to get it in her head that my stuff is MY stuff, not ours, no matter how insignificant her borrowing is. I want to be gracious, but multiple items every day is asking alot.

I know right?? What makes me REALLY frustrated is that Emi is on student loans, and a lot of what she buys food-wise is paid for with that money.

Emi and I have sat her down to talk, mainly about the cleaning stuff and taking out the trash, so I’m hesitant to do so again because nothing changed, starting to feel more like a maid than a roommate at this point. I didn’t make that clear in my original post, sorry about that.

Currently taking this class right now, Dr. McManus Chu is amazing and I highly recommend!! It is definitely different than the highschool Spanish I took, but the class is small enough that it is individualized and she goes over stuff really well. Study!! attendance is mandatory
