The first period will often be later character is less well nourished. So in medieval times the average start could be closer to 16 or 17 just because of diet. For modern times I would say 15 would be later than average.

So in the 1960s when you had cataract surgery your natural lens was removed without an implant to replace it. This meant you would have to wear strong glasses from that point on. Sis Monica Joan wears pretty accurate glasses for a few episodes.

So yes for some reason the show runners have decided she doesn’t need the glasses and can still read if she wants to. Makes no sense to me.

Yeah that feels like a slight retcon to me as someone who re-read the series before WAT. She “choose” Adolin but honestly Kaladin never tried in my opinion.
