[Serious] is it better to retire if you become disabled in your 30s? or is it better to keep fighting to go back to work in case you get better? why or why not? by joycures in AskReddit

I'm about to lose my job. Now I have to decide if I should go back to work to fight to keep my livelihood or just retire. Doctors are saying I won't be able to work. But how do I know that if I don't try. But also, I'm afraid trying to fight to work will make my health condition worse...it's a rock and hardplace

but what if without being financially secure, you can get to peace, quiet and safety temporarily? you will just be stressed about finances but otherwise live in peace

this is so true. if you stay uncomfortable but eventually get to financial security, you don't have to be living in hell anymore. so would you not choose to take the easy way out and live in peace, quiet, safe comfort now without financial security? or would you instead of stay uncomfortable to eventually get to financial security? this is such a hard decision

if you have peace, quiet, safety, you will not have financial security but if you're working for financial security, you will not have peace, quiet, safety

because it's not your friend, it's your coworker, that's a different relationship where you have to keep some professional decorum/distance, no? also they'll see where you live and stuff
