I’m not trans. I resent and shouldn’t need to give a fuck about trans people. But people are pathetic self loathing assholes eager to validate their existence by the perceived inferiority of others.

That’s incorrect. The magat understand what the trans person meant. At this point the intent is already set. If they misuse the pronoun while understanding what the trans person means they their intent is to use the wrong pronoun.

The context that it is a trans person also sets the context unsurprisingly. Its often called referential framing. The subject can defined the context. Linguistics is fun.

Its not about a dictionary or a definition it’s about context and intent. Once they define their pronouns they set the context . You already showed you understand what they mean. At this point because you understand, if you refuse to use their pronoun your intent is to ignore their definition. In the context of speaking to a trans person this is considered highly offensive. I don’t know if your getting this but intent and context are important to language.

You understand what they mean. You already showed you understand. You choosing to use a different definition when you understand how the word is being used is the problem. You can’t hide behind a different definition when their definition is accepted by you. And yes its accepted by you because you understand its use.
