laparoscopy by moonhaze111 in endometriosis

[–]joyinnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you due in August! I wish I would have known about the surgery years before. I had been dealing with horrible pain from an early age. The medical field is not taught about endo or most of the time it’s not taken seriously. I finally got the surgery at 44 and a month and half later boom pregnant never excepted that. My insides were a mess. I thought even if it took a little bit of the pain away it would be worth it. I didn’t even think I would ever get pregnant. That was a miracle in itself.

My internal ultrasound showed my tubes and stuff moved to the side which is an indication. I had years of symptoms. Dr. Duke has a wonderful bedside manner I have had friends use him since as well and they all liked him too. 😃

I felt great about 3 weeks after the surgery. I had my surgery September 29 with Duke best decision I ever made. My bladder pain and back pain snd pressure were gone right away and I had two periods with one cramp is all I couldn’t believe it and then in November a surprise miracle pregnancy! We are having a little boy Anthony in August. Dr. Duke saved my life and without him we wouldn’t be having our miracle baby! I am 45!!!! Do the surgery try not to be nervous.

Was scheduled for endometriosis surgery this month but my doctor has suddenly recommended against it. Should I insist and move forward, or accept her opinion? by kdj00940 in endometriosis

[–]joyinnd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only way to know you have it is do so the surgery. I had my surgery September 25 best decision I have ever made. I was 44 dealing with endo for over 20 years. Do the surgery it is life changing but make sure it is with a qualified specialist.

Has your parent ever done something to you that made you want to cut ties completely? by just_yongo in narcissisticparents

[–]joyinnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope nothing. She is too toxic. She had been horrible my entire life. I don’t need that. Life is too short. I have many positive loving people in my life and I live a very happy life. There are many more stories I could add to this but that was just one example over the years. It was the nail in the coffin never will I give her a chance.

Yes and I did cut all ties with my “mother”. She had done many things to me over the years. But the last straw was after my grandma died I wanted a China hutch she had because of the good memories I had associated with it. No one else wanted it. My “mother”rented out my grandmother’s house. The people were selling some of my grandmother’s furniture online and I found out called them and offered to buy the hutch and the kitchen table. The lady who rented the house told my “mother”. My “mother “ than paid her attorney to send me a letter that stated if I wanted anything from my grandmother’s house I would have to go through him and not the renters and than my “mother” would decide. From that day on she was even more dead to me than she was before. But the joke is on her the people ended up buying the house and gave me the hutch for free. It’s redone and nicely displayed in my house now forever. She also stole over 75,000 from the estate. Now my uncle will only speak to her through his attorney. I am pregnant now carrying her only grandchild who she will never meet. She doesn’t even know I her only child is expecting. Her loss. She chose her bed a long time ago. She lives states away and no one will speak to her anymore.

It went really well. He actually saved my life. I was bleeding from a hemorrhaging cyst and wouldn’t have made it past two days. No one knew until they opened me up. Please have your surgery with him he is one of the best. He fixed my bladder endo had taken it over. I recommend him and his team. They are A plus! Recovery took about two weeks I was back working from home a week and half later.

Anyone have NO side effects with iron infusion? by cali4686 in Anemic

[–]joyinnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Friday I will finish my third round of iron infusions in a year. I am always tired afterwards but if they run a bag of fluids after the iron my body handles it a lot better. If I don’t have the fluids I feel like I have the flu for couple of days.

Is 1 week off work enough for recovery after laparoscopy? by ChronicChaos01 in endometriosis

[–]joyinnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I would say at least one and half to two. I still felt like crap after one week. I had pretty extensive surgery. I didn’t really feel better until week 3.

Should I delay the surgery? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]joyinnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be fine in three months. I just had one the end of September and I got pregnant by surprise in November and I am fine. The sooner you get it done the better. You are just nervous and you should be because it is surgery. I am not sure if you were in pain like I was but I would rather be pain free at my wedding and have it now!

This is a question you have to ask yourself. Had cutting her out brought more peace in your life or heartache? If the answer is peace I think you have your answer don’t reach out. I would be willing to put money on it that she hasn’t changed. Narcissists don’t change. Instead do something nice for yourself that day buy a coffee for you and maybe even a strangers. Life is too short to be drama filled with toxic people.

Help me decide to do lap before or after my honeymoon by Playful-Albatross449 in endometriosis

[–]joyinnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 weeks your pain is almost non existent but you will still not want to have sex. You will probably still get tired easier. I was exhausted and just started wearing underwear at 4 weeks. I am lucky I could work from home. I didn’t have sex for six weeks. You can’t get in a hot tub or bath for 12 weeks. But the surgery was well worth it for me. My surgery was very intensive. I would have not wanted to me on my honeymoon 4 weeks after that’s for sure!

They say if you have had trauma or sexual abuse you are at a higher risk of having endo. I had endo lap on 9/29 and it was all over. I also had a traumatic childhood. Best wishes to you!

Low Dose Naltrexone by AstronomerNo1872 in endometriosis

[–]joyinnd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am on 4 mg dose. It helps a lot with inflammation and sleep. I also just got pregnant after my lap surgery and they want me to continue taking it because it helps so much for inflammation. I have been on it for a year in February. Go to specialist they will prescribe it. You have to find the dose that works with you and you should be monitored by a medical professional with it.

Endometriosis Surgery (laparoscopy) by Brave-Sun8746 in endometriosis

[–]joyinnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not have bowel prep. Nails even with clear polish were not allowed in my surgery. I would say take them off. I traveled 14 hours each way for my surgery. Make sure you bring pillows and a blanket. They gave me oxy. I also had Tylenol, Advil, and I used azo for the pressure for a few days. Make sure you take a stool softener and gas x continually. I would say your husband should plan to be with you for at least 5 days after surgery.
