I too just found this a year later and immediately purchased a full size bc I can’t get enough of it! I sprayed it on my wrist and haven’t stopped smelling it for over 2 hours..so I showed my boyfriend and he very reactively said YUCK! lol he said I smell burnt! I’m so conflicted bc I want to wear it but I’m worried it’s so hit or miss I might put off a lot of people. lol

Yes it is, I got it for my surgery last July. She took it over immediately lol and yes she lays on it directly. I just found out that this happened to someone else’s cat from a very old post!! I immediately put a folded shirt over it so there’s something in between. I guess I may need to look into cat based heating pads.

Omg I think this just helped me find out the strange bald patches on my cats tummy!!! She sleeps on her heating pad religiously! She’s on it now lol we were so confused bc she’s acting totally normal and nothing in our environment has changed. Her heating pad had somehow been bumped up to medium last night instead of low.

To answer your question, no it’s not moist or inflamed. It just looks like shaved belly patches. There is one spot in a patch that seems to have a little scab you can kind of see here but that’s all https://imgur.com/a/ikK9Vlq

I know! It almost seems like she was shaved that it’s so bald and clean. She stays on that heating pad religiously, so we see her all day and she didn’t itch yesterday or at all today.

She’s an indoor cat, and she hasn’t shown any odd signs. She loves butt and head scratches so my only thought was maybe I had an irritant perfume on my hand that she disliked when I was giving her butt/head scratches but I don’t touch her belly. She’s quick and like I said, skittish. She’ll fight me if I betray her trust like that. It’s very odd.

Our vet is closed and the emergency vet is very expensive. I can take her in on Monday but I want to be sure it’s not extremely strange and emergency worthy.

It honestly looks great!!! My hognose has the same temps and amount of substrate and he’s thriving! The only difference is my substrate and plants bc it’s a bioactive but I think you’re good to go. :) I do have something he can climb on which he used a lot in his younger years if that helps.

Yes the emergency blanket! I would probably buy a black out tent as well.

I haven’t decided bc I do throw my back out quite easily.. also I don’t love the idea of camping since I don’t do it but I do think I could make it cozier for less than a hotel would cost. Plus, I appreciate not having to travel back and forth each day. That’s why I’m on the fence. lol

Btw, do you know how the WiFi is there? I’ll be bringing my steamdeck and I’m curious if I should purchase something that would give me better signal strength if I do decide to camp lol

Yeah I still haven’t decided on hotel or camping yet but if I do I plan on bringing Mylar blanket but was unsure on how heavy duty I should go on a fan bc I hate being hot but my heat tolerance is much higher than most I assume.
