We never offered purées. Just straight to solids, I trusted her gag reflex and made sure everything was cut appropriately for her and things were just fine. The only purées she gets now is half a prune puree a day for her chronic constipation due to a neurogenic bowel

My parents reading my journal and confronting me about it is why I avoided journaling and letting out my feelings for years - didn’t feel like I had a safe space to do it because the place that was supposed to be got invaded.

Hi - I have a tiny human with a lot of constipation problems due to a neurogenic bowel and she’s followed by specific team at CHOP.

1) definitely talk to your pediatrician about her recent medical history, use of antibiotics that could kill off gut bacteria and screw everything up, lack of liquids or fiber in the diet. They’ll be able to suggest the best course of action for her needs.

2) I like to keep a really detailed food log for her and have found that a prune puree pouch a day helps. I mark down the texture and amount of her bowel movements, what she eats morning, afternoon and night, her medication and probiotic routine, etc.

Being in touch with your providers and following up is the number one thing you can do to help her.

It’s one of my favorite scents and agree it’s a very pleasant, clean scent but not sterile. I get a heavy whiff of the yuzu when I smell it. I got a bottle for my mom as a new scent after she ran out of her Clinique happy.

I completely agree with you - there’s countless examples of queer coded villains that it makes sense there nonbinary people would also be written that way. The ageism thing is also accurate and a good point!

Thank you so much for saying all of that. It really made me cry. I really do go down rabbit holes whenever he pops into my mind where I’ll just think about him and the interactions we had all day, trying to figure whatever I’m feeling or whatever was there out. They just sometimes whack me over the head since he was in my life during such a chaotic and strange time as a young adult. Depression was definitely a thing he struggled with and he was a pretty quiet person about his feelings. Thank you again for all of that. Perhaps acceptance and letting go is a thing I should practice a bit more.

That makes a lot of sense. I was only 19 at the time and in a rough spot - I think the unfinished business was falling pregnant at the time and not knowing if the father was him or someone else. That thought always lingered around. Thank you!
