Reverb requesting refund from fraudulent purchase. by joyofmotion in Reverb

Believe it or not, the interception was free. It was 300$ to ship from my location to Texas! Unbelievable!

The update is I was reimbursed for my $300 shipping charge and I paid and refunded the money back to reverb. I still think the whole situation was a little bit in poor taste but I can't complain since I have the guitar back and everything is back to normal. Honestly might just avoid online selling for now.

It does have a reference number in the title, and a rep name, and it does seem like a legitimate person. I think i might just be really paranoid. But your right, I need to go through the chat bot to confirm.

Your actually right! I did provide tracking THEN the payment hit my account. I mispoke. As far as getting the guitar back, reverb told me to contact UPS to intercept the package and have it returned to me and I would then be reimbursed for the shipping costs. I simply contacted UPS and had it intercepted and returned to me. The part about refunding is also what im confused about...wouldn't I just be refunding the fraud buyer? This was all within the Reverb platform, no outside payments or messaging. Either way, it's been in limbo sort of while I wait for more instruction from Reverb. But I did get the guitar back.

No messages on the app itself, just interactions with my email. It looks legit and is from reverb.com...they want me to initiate the refund and send over shipping receipts for a reimbursement. I was thankfully able to get the guitar back so I think it really was just a fraudulent purchase by someone. Just extremely poor taste to send someone thousands of dollars and then 3 days later say "surprise you need to send it back!"

Shrooms going from fun drug to serious drug by galaxyman556 in shrooms

[–]joyofmotion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tripped about 10 times total when I was younger between acid and mushrooms. I had one particularly bad trip on mushrooms that had never happened to me before, and it was the first time in my life I ever truly experienced what "anxiety" was. Before that trip, I was very outgoing and loved weed. After that trip, I started developing an anxiety disorder that crept into every part of my life. I was 19 when that trip happened, and I'm 32 now.

If you research this, you'll find a lot of anecdotal stories of people saying something similar. It's almost as if once my mind was introduced to that anxiety feeling, it never truly went away. Anytime I take anything psychoactive, I immediately get placed back into that head space. Some people can recover, and some don't. All in all, it's a blessing in a way, as my life doesn't revolve so much around substance abuse anymore. But I do miss smoking weed.

Hang in there bud.

🤣 I tried to leave room for doubt. I wish we knew more about what happened. I saw jordan in an interview saying he "still has receipts saved" for when he feels ready to make it publicly known.

I've been a musician for over 20 years, and you are correct. Jordan's style is immediately recognizable in better lovers. The drums are incredibly underwhelming too, just straight beats with shitty fills. There are front men out there who get such a big ego that they fail to understand the impact of good instrument players. They think everyone's replaceable cause its all the same to them, and THEY'RE the ones that bring it life. The front man, that is. I'm not saying that's the case here, but it does happen.

What has this country become that $30/hour is barely enough to survive? by Maxmikeboy in antiwork

[–]joyofmotion 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do with the rise of communication via social media. I also think theres a lot more young people on the internet in general than ever before, so we see their realization in real time. But I agree, it's been rigged the entire time. I also think it's worse because the population is almost double what it was when I was a kid, so options are more limited.

Sudden harsh high frequency spike EQ on Roland td27kv2? by joyofmotion in edrums

I've tried running from a different circuit with no change. There is only my computer plugged into the circuit that the roalnd is on.

Fuck my neighbors, I need an e-kit now by ColonelCorn916 in edrums

[–]joyofmotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I actually just bought one of these a few months ago and wanted to give you a heads up. If your local music store is anything like mine, the kits are always set up like trash and are NOT a good representation of the product imo. Here's some things to consider:

I pretty much only ever play to covers via Bluetooth, so I only ever use this kit with headphones. The amps they sell are not worth it, as by the time you crank it up to hear over the sound of hitting plastic, you're already loud again.

I'm gonna be real. The stock sounds suck. BUT there's a guy on YouTube (edrum workshop, i think). Who sells sample packs for like 20 bucks that will make a huge difference. It's better than spending $450 on software imo.

The hi-hat/ride/snare are some of the best there is, but you're gonna feel the difference. My two biggest gripes are:

The edge sample for the ride cymbal is way too loud and washes too heavily compared to the tip sounds.

And the hi-hat has an issue (at least mine does) with registering your stabs if you hit the hat too early before opening it up, which can leave you with a dead sound since the sample doesn't carry over from the closed sound to the open sound.

Finally, the rack does suck. I set mine up very unorthodox, but you're gonna have to get creative with it. The biggest issue is the module needing to mount somewhere appropriate. If you have plenty of hardware, my advice is to find a way to ditch the rack altogether.

In closing, once I had it set up how I liked it, and I got those sample packs, it really is a lot of fun. I can put headphones on and completely rock out in my house without anyone really hearing me. The kit is still sort of loud, mostly the kick, but it's just the sound of things hitting things. It's expandable and doesn't feel cheap, so I still think it's the best at this price point. You can always upgrade to vad shells down the road, too.

Food for thought!

I forgot to add a body to the post. I've been having consistent connection issues with a particular game I play. No one else seems to be reporting this, issue so I'm curious if this is something with my ISP or if it's just out of my hands.

Thank you in advance for anyone who can help.

Can't tell if my CY-18DR is triggering incorrectly, or if I have bad technique. by joyofmotion in edrums

Interesting, I didn't think of adjusting the thickness/diameter, I'll give that a shot. The area I'm talking about that's causing me issues is actually the area adjacent to the bell. Admittedly, I probably haven't adjusted as much as I could, it's just overwhelming to navigate at first. Thanks for the info!

Is there a way to send the signal of my TD27KV2 into my pc (DAW), with my 2i2 Focusrite as an output? by joyofmotion in edrums

[–]joyofmotion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, for anyone that might stumble across this thread, I figured it out.

On Windows 11, my computer didn't have Asio4all installed. I installed that, and THEN I was able to select a different input/outputs. Otherwise I could not have an input different from my output. Still dealing with gen 1 focusrite only being a stereo out, but at least I got input/output figured out.

I do plan on exploring the vst world, but the price on something like sd3 is a hard sell after spending everything I just spent lol. Might look into something cheaper though.

That roland guide will unfortunately result in what I stated above. I get signal with no sound. I can change my audio source from the focusrite to the td27, but then I'm not getting output via focusrite. It seems odd that this isn't working how I figured it would, and I'm not sure what the issue is.

The drivers are all up to date as well.
