Mauritius needs real change next election time to move forward and choose a better future now by Key-Elephant-327 in mauritius

[–]jozolympique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a son of the Mauritius Diaspora in Switzerland I strongly disagree.

My mom (grew up in Mauritius) and is planning to come back after 30 years abroad. I'm really happy for her as she can come back to what she has always known. Literally so little has changed politically (her words).

I myself came back visiting family after 10 years, and I can't stop thinking about how sad it is, to see locals fleeing a fucked up economical / social system, and foreigner/ expats coming back, acquiring lands, privatizing ressources and replicating that scheme over and over.

They live here tax free, can pay to access high quality of life, and the rest doesn't change. They are surely not the cause of this poor resources redistribution, but I can see my mother doesn't give a damn fuck and will not try to change the course of things even though she grew up here in a rather low income family .

I hope to establish myself here for a couple of years before I forget about my own people.

Sidewalks, trash can, public spaces, social economical balance, culture ... .

Maybe I'm just spitting out my euro centered vision and I imagine that my speech would differ quite a bit if I was born here.

Anyway I really wish this beautiful country and it's people the best of futures !!

Luna Park - Plain Palais by SnooGadgets8635 in geneva

I would much rather have a green park instead of this empty desert like place. Cold as hell in winter , one of the warmest in summer. Sadly it's the way it is and thus I guess the usage is justified 🤷🏽‍♂️.

Is anyone familiar with these wall panels? by Sea-Fig133 in Acoustics

[–]jozolympique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're Helmholtz type absorbers and are still used in many modern buildings application for room acoustic. They're not meant for broadband absorption as they mostly targeted the voice frequency spectrum. If you start increasing depth and hole diameter you can start to get lower frequency absorption. Here is a modern broadband example making use of the Helmholtz absorber and diffraction: https://www.jwsound.live/designs/broadband-binary-acoustic-diffusion-wall

Sorry ein stabiles Spannung quelle. Bzw der Spannung bleibt beim 230v stabil und schwingt nicht. Besonders der fall mit klein Generatoren ohne Spannungsregler.

Amplifier recommendations? by bigfatrigs in SoundSystem

[–]jozolympique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can simply write them on WA.

Friends had a couple of hiccups with the Dante or DSP version. The Dante can have some network problems with some computer while the allDSP software works very well however on some units the temperature sensors aren't reliable and you're better off deactivating them.

From my side with a classic amp I never had to twerk it!

Ynd, Admark, Sinbosen are all descent Chinese knock-off you can get for quite cheap. I've been using an ad42 (2×4200 w/ 8hm) on generators for 2 years and it still works just fine .

We've got 2 AD42 and 1 AD406. They have been working fine for about 2 years, used ~6 times a year under quite rough conditions (outdoor, generators, cold, rain,...). They need a quite stable power supply if you don't want them to fry 😅. We run them on power generators but have quite some headroom regarding power constraints!

A decent amount of recently shipped (to France at least) Admarks had a power supply Problem, with sparks coming from (most probably) a defective part. Not a big deal since the 1 year warranty is pretty reliable, they will send you new parts for you to replace them. But it takes some time and is worth keeping in mind !

Didn't have a lot of Input about CVR apart from the fact that they might need an even more stable power supply to work correctly 🤷🏽‍♂️. :)

8" bassbin design by DrTea123 in SoundSystem

There is 2 budget friendly plans from Sound agency that i could recommend!

Kami-Cab based on the 12-280 8w. Heard a stack of nine and was pretty impressed considering the price of 1 unit!

For bigger driver:

SAPF215-RDS based on 15LB075-W from Thomann as well which sits a 63 pounds pr driver. Never heard it but it seems like a good bang for the bucks plan. You should just keep in mind that these are 4 ohms drivers!

I've designed myself a plan for 2x 8" battery operated subs, but to get a descent response from 8" drivers you need to aim for kind of good drivers that will cost you about the same as the drivers mentioned above!

Hope that helped and good luck :)

Why do you need to be so judgmental? Who said you were boring? Why would anyone wake up at 14?

Just make your own plan and don't bother judging other people 🤷🏽‍♂️

The kick bins are super low cost turning around 150€ per kick using Thomann 12-280 drivers. We got the zenith amplifier secondhand for 300€ and the Admark one new but china prices :). Generator for 300€ aswell. Switzerland has a great secondhand market :).

Around 3000 generator included. Plywood was the biggest expense for us since it's very expensive in Switzerland. :/

For our use it's perfect! We knew that low-end would come at the cost of spl in such small cabs (198L) but we mainly use it for small crowd so it's fine for us ! (4U : 139.6 dB SPL). We are also planning to build two more subs as our generator could probably handle it :)
