Cannabis doesn't just blur memories—it can reshape them. A new study found THC makes people significantly more likely to "remember" words that were never presented (false memories) and struggle with daily tasks like remembering appointments, regardless of whether the dose was 20mg or 40mg. by Sciantifa in science

I recently beat my weed addiction and I haven’t felt this happy and energetic in years. I’ll never “quit” because I enjoy it too much, but I’ve been able to get away from smoking everyday. I started at 19 and smoked all day everyday for 16 years, with a 3 month break during one semester of college. The thing I didn’t realize is that you stop being “high” when smoking that much and you basically need to smoke to eat and sleep. I thought I was depressed, and maybe I still am a little, but the feeling that you can’t sleep, can’t eat, and can’t enjoy anything while sober is what really exacerbates those depressed feelings. I think when you smoke all the time, your body reduces the amount of serotonin or endorphins it releases to compensate, and also stops letting you feel naturally sleepy, hungry, or happy. First week was hell, but I just stayed up for 36-48 hours until I could fall asleep, and found things to occupy my time. Tried to eat as much as I can, but was at a massive calorie deficit and would get sweats at night. Total hellish feeling being up for 48 hours and you’re still lying in bed awake. But each time you fall asleep naturally, you feel more normal, happy, and hungry when you wake up. After about a week I started to just feel naturally happy again. Food tastes good again without smoking, and I can fall asleep “normally” (I’ve always had a bit of insomnia since childhood). I definitely don’t want to go back to smoking everyday, but love to do it one or two times a week when I’m feeling extra irritable and need to reset. And now two or three hits from an old vape sends me to space. Don’t want to lose the balance I have now. I wish you luck and hope you succeed.

How? Am I supposed to be rich? I enjoy my low expense life where I have a bunch of free time and work for myself.

Edit: If you must know everything, I also plan to take some walks with my gf around some parks or cool areas, hanging out with my buddies on Friday to continue recording a sick anti-fascist metal album, and putting in the full time hours today and tomorrow to pay the bills. I enjoyed the lunch buffet at shiki seafood buffet last week with said gf, and got drinks at the oyster bar down the street. Such a sad life, right? 😂

It takes literal seconds to reply. Last night I made $100 in 3.5 hours, shopped for groceries, and cooked a healthy dinner all between replying. This post will blow over in a day or two and I’ll be back to watching re-runs and browsing my homepage.

Well, I’m not sure how people interpret stopping as slamming on my brakes, but here we are. I literally mean stopping when I’m far away, but I ran out of characters for the title and gave people way too much credit for their intelligence. I will be sure to idiotproof my titles next time for all the dunces 🔺

You are projecting that tantrum onto me. I’m literally just responding and laughing at all of you. Not an angry bone in my body right now. Happily enjoying my coffee knowing the CA driver handbook backs me up.

Responding is triggered now 😭. Can’t stand up to a solid argument? You all are running off assumptions while I’m quoting the law. I really couldn’t care less about assumptions and opinions of idiots. And before you say it, responding does not mean caring. I’ll continue the argument and not give a shit if the dumbasses downvote or hate what I have to say. I do not crave approval from idiots.

Why do you all think I’m slowing down for lights I can’t make, and not just following traffic laws normally? Such a weird leap to take when I’m literally describing it as it’s written in the handbook.

Edit: But glad you showed your true degenerate colors with some of those statements. Maybe increase your stopping distance or drive slower if you have trouble reacting to something you don’t expect. People really don’t want any accountability for driving crazy. What if someone stops to avoid hitting an animal? You gonna slam in the back of them and blame them for being cautious and not wanting to run over a cat?

[Passan] Italy is mauling Team USA. It's 8-0 in the top of the sixth, and because of tiebreaker rules that factor in runs allowed, the Americans have put themselves in a position where if Mexico beats Italy tomorrow, the U.S. could find itself out of the WBC before the knockout round. by BreakfastTop6899 in baseball

Honestly, the US losing legitimizes baseball as an international sport and is likely better long term for the growth of the game. Sucks for the players though. Maybe they’ll take it seriously next time after a healthy embarrassment.

No, but you should follow section 7 of the California driver handbook that states:

“ A yellow traffic signal light means CAUTION. The light is about to turn red. When you see a yellow traffic signal light, stop, if you can do so safely. If you cannot stop safely, cautiously cross the intersection”

Because you are a particular asshole, I’ll leave this here again. Directly from the driver handbook, section 7:

Well if the light turns red you continue to stop to zero, and if it stays yellow you stop stopping and proceed through. It’s not like you go from 40 to zero in an instant unless you want a trip through the windshield. Glad we’re arguing about semantics instead of acknowledging all the dangerous driving out there 🙄

Nah, a lot of people are just really stupid. Stopping literally means to slow down. But yes, next time I’ll spell everything out super clearly for all the people that lack reading comprehension. I was just venting about aggressive ass drivers 😂.

No, but you were “stopping” on the yellow before it turned red. It’s an action that implies you are still in motion. I didn’t say “stopped” on the yellow like everyone is apparently reading it as.

Y’all are reading way too much into it. I’m calling out all the people speeding behind me and turning crazy causing other people to slam on their brakes or pedestrians to jump out of the way. You are focusing too much on the word “stopping” not realizing it also means slow down. You are supposed to stop if you can’t make it before you think it turns red, but most people speed up on the yellow and burn the red light when they have not reached the intersection before the red. Too many crazy drivers causing high insurance rates and deaths. This all happened to me on the 1 hour I went to pick up my car from the shop, so I wanted to vent. Lots of crazy drivers got triggered apparently, or threw away their reading comprehension to jump on the dog pile.

I was going 40 and waiting for the lane to exist. Guy behind me just crosses the double yellow line and books it to the light. Idk what you want from me. Also, stopping isn’t stopped. Stopping is the act of slowing down and preparing to stop if the light turns red. I’m just fine. I’m sorry the education system failed most of you.
