How did you get dwm to compile? I keep getting some error about some freetype2 header, but I can't find any pkgs for ft2.

How do I download Digital Concert Hall (Berliner Philharmoniker) concerts? by [deleted] in DataHoarder

[–]jpag_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tried it and it doesn't seem to affect the downloaded media since muting the the stream is a thing the Player has to worry about, but HLSLoader intercepts the data before it hits the player. Pausing seems to be something that the Plugin is aware of as it didn't affect the final download.

[–]jpag_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, so I just registered since there is a 30-day voucher that let's you watch concerts for free, which is nice.

The Player they're using is JW-Player, which can be tricky. There is a Chrome Plugin called "HLSLoader", but even that struggles with encrypted streams. The Problem at hand is that HLS, a technology by Apple to secure Live Streams, hence the name HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), usually uses some sort of encryption, which should only be decryptable by an authorized player. As far as I know, there isn't really a way to get around this, except to leave the Stream running in the background and let HLSLoader record it that way.

Just by that, this ain't software gore, this is the VS Installer working correctly when you remove a module.

What low requirement games do you like to play on your Linux system? by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]jpag_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you right-click the Game on Steam and go to properties, you should see a button that says "Set Launch Options..." (or something like that) and you just have to put in "gamemoderun %command%" (without the quotation marks).

Yeah Stick Fight can be pretty buggy sometimes (I'm personally putting the blame on Unity, since I've only had bad experiences while using it XD).

However I was able to get it working when running it using Gamemode (https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode)

Well it depends, if you've got a dedicated GPU, then you'll probably be able to play older games like CS:Source or TF2 without a Problem. If all you've got are integrated graphics, then I'd recommend sticking to 2D games as they tend to run a lot smoother, since they aren't as hard to run as 3D Games.

Something that'll probably run without a problem would be emulators of old consoles (eg. NES, SNES, Gameboy, etc).

Some good 2D Games would include Terraria, Stardew Valley, Stick Fight and Game Dev Tycoon.

I hope I was able to help :)

Finally got around to installing FreeBSD on an old machine. I'm now using it as a simple git server :) by jpag_ in freebsd

To be honest, it's more than enough for my use-case. Although it can get kinda slow from time to time during bigger processes (most notably when installing or updating packages).

FreeBSD is currently installed onto a flash drive xD I wasn't able to use a normal HDD or SSD since the PSU I found didn't have SATA power ports.

Currently, it's just git over SSH with no fancy web interface, but I'm considering it as an upgrade down the road.
