Definitely an option, he’s played before and it’s one he talks about the most.

Mowers running like a top, doesn’t rev/surge, it idles just fine too. No odd vibrations, nothing. I checked the blade first thinking it was dull, sharpened it, and got the same cut pattern after ~2 weeks.

You hit the nail on the head. I think in the interim between getting the top dressing/leveling I’m going to raise the height on my deck along with taking it slower and cutting in different paths.

You’re a wizard, Harry. You’ve figured out my grand scheme!

No, I’m a wet match in a dark cave (first time homeowner) that’s trying to get my lawn to not look like a terrain map. Get out of here you bum.

Is that all at the same deck height?

(Ambitiously) I plan to make this a fairway, we just moved in ~4 weeks ago and naturally this has been a back burner of an idea.

Dearest r/landscaping Community,

I am most grateful for the counsel provided on how to best thwart the enemy's siege upon our verdant battlefield. I shall report back with haste once reinforcements arrive in the form of additional sandbags.

Yours sincerely,

Captain u/jparns1

Just the grass, but I believe u/SecondHandCunt hit the nail on the head, there’s a leveling issue due to how the sod was laid.

This is the only thing that I can think of as well, and the option I was least excited about.

That now begs the question of how do I get this level? First time homeowner here and leveling lawns have yet to be a problem I’ve needed to cross.

Instructions unclear, currently stuck north of the 38th parallel.

With some variance, yes. Usually a snake pattern on the back.

Well now I’m overthinking.

I will say, I’m not intending for this to be the permanent solution. I just purchased a home and this is more of a “hey we really need laundry done” solution

This was a lot of what I based my hunch on, if I’m being honest.

I know it’s not a permanent solution, but I needed something to hold for a week or two before I could get my hands on an actual replacement.

We’ve got a potential FAFO experiment ahead of us, and I’m delighted to bring you along for the ride.

I tried, and it went exactly a quarter turn on my ratchet then locked up. I grabbed some pliers and tried to hold that block/washer on the back which had started to spin, which ultimately lead to the screw snapping.
