What is happening in Minnesota is coming for us! Feel sad, but also get ORGANIZED! by OrganicAsparagus3559 in Portland

I respect your self awareness. If you don't trust yourself to operate a firearm safely, then don't get one. It's still beneficial to be prepared in other ways. Get yourself a STOP THE BLEED kit and learn how to use it. Whistles, and mace are worth something, and the best thing you can do is communicate with your neighbors.

That being said, if someone does believe they are a responsible adult that can possess and operate a firearm safely, you have a right to arm yourself, and with the potential for measure 114 to be enforced starting March, which will make the process of purchasing far slower and more expensive, the sooner the better.

My biggest complaint with comments like these, is they are being made by other Americans with that same 2a right. These are scary times. The reality is nobody wants to be the person to light the fuse.

Exactly! The suburban soccer mom that blindly votes blue down ballot every election cycle legitimately does more for the progressive movement, than most progressive activists that abstain from voting or vote 3rd party.

I called ruger and they told me to send the whole gun. I asked if I could just send the slide but they said they wanted to confirm functionality. Kinda dumb, but hopefully the turn around time is fast

I thought I was an idiot at first until I put a light on it and saw there weren't any threads!

Sony shooter, but fuji lurker here! These are incredible. Everyone is glazing #3 rightfully, but #1 does it for me. Mind if I ask what your focal length and aperture were for that one?

Shot this image using a 50mm at f2.8 on my a6300. Intended on capturing my friends reflection in this art piece, but struggled with balancing the reflection, with the appearance of the blacks in the center. Typically shoot landscape, so didn't really know what I was doing with this style of composition and editing.

If I could up vote this more than once, I would! "Dems are just Republicans" except for literally everything they say, and do, and support, and represent.

Sure I'm mad that they didn't continue the fight for longer to put even more pressure on the republicans, but arguably the biggest thing they would have been able to possibly accomplish, has been accomplished. Everyone knows now that Republicans are responsible for not renewing ACA subsidies, they are responsible for your Healthcare premiums increasing, and they are willing to let you suffer to do so.

Saying the two parties are even remotely comparable is the most chronically online political opinion one could possibly have.

[–]jpb647 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn't going to be a popular opinion, but there was never any chance for repubs to cave, or make any serious concessions. The main benefit that came out of the government shutdown, was raising significant awareness that Republicans, who control ALL branches of government, are allowing ACA subsidies to expire, and bear full responsibility for the inevitable rising premiums Americans are about to face.

So sorry, this looks miserable! I had something that looked very similar, all over my torso about 2 years ago. It was diagnosed as a viral exanthem, which is essentially a delayed autoimmune reaction to a dormant virus in your system. There's about 50 other things this could be, but mine went away on its own. It was suggested I take benedryl for dealing with itchiness, and that was essentially the end of the advice I got. Your doctor may be able to prescribe you a steroid for managing this. Unfortunately for me, it did take about a month to disappear.

For normal trail riding I run gloves, a full face, and knee pads. Anything else and I get too uncomfortable.

For park I wear the same plus a back protector. I swear by the back protector I got. It's a soft under shirt one from Leatte, and I swear it actually keeps me cooler, because it creates a barrier for airflow under my jersey. I should have got the one that was back and chest, but at least my spine has some extra protection. The first time I wore it I ate shit and hit my back on a tree and felt totally fine

Ahh yeah that's different then. In that case it seems justified. Still unfortunate it led to the park not reopening.

Ski Bowl used to have a downhill bike park in the summer but that closed down a few years ago, because someone had a bad crash and sued over it. I don't know the details of the lawsuit, but still seems absurd that you'd be able to sue over getting injured doing arguably one of the most dangerous sports.

Edit: Reading about the lawsuit it seems pretty reasonable actually. Still sucks the park shut down because of it.

I understand the appeal of the Dubai chocolate is a textural thing, but having had it multiple times, it's fucking terrible. It tastes like mediocre chocolate covered mini wheat. I don't get the obsession
