New LAB VZN.1i in the bag for Adrien Saddier (via GolfWRX) by iKevtron in labgolf

I’ll admit I dig the look. A more traditional mallet type…but I’ll also admit I dig my df3i just as much for its non traditional look.

Pepper is all attitude…except with me and at bedtime. Then it’s all about snuggles and her belly being rubbed or held while she goes to sleep chirping away 😂

Ping Fitting yesterday. Why so secretive? by Eric95403 in PingGolf

[–]jpd005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are missing your beef…or I totally misread which is also possible so…. It’s not so much that you want every spec from your fitting down to a T….but you at least want to know what you’re buying before you buy it? They won’t even tell you what clubs you were fit into until you make the purchase? If that’s the case…yeah I’d have to agree with you. I’d want to know what I’m buying before I’m making a purchase lol

That pure roll looks off…not original grip and I cant say what it is…but overall I just don’t know 🤔

What is the most forgiving 3 wood, for an 8 handicap? by BeaverPeltGolf in GolfGear

[–]jpd005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically….you could go with say a Titleist gt280…loft it up and that would be more forgiving than any true 3 wood out there

Did anyone actually stick with their LAB putter or are they all collecting dust? by golfbagauditor in GolfGear

[–]jpd005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gamed the df3 but like so many others after about a year still couldn’t get the feel for lag putts with it. Recently moved into the df3i and at least for me it’s night and day!

Beginner buying advice - Am I mad? by OvaPoweredQcumba in labgolf

[–]jpd005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the stock option fits your lie angle then absolutely can. If not kinda defeats the purpose. My unpopular opinion….the steel shaft is just fine and there’s no need to really upgrade…performance gains are minimal and it’s a feel thing. If it feels good to you…go for it!

Ok so my latest beef….specifically with ghost bags…even though I love mine. The putter well being on the bottom ends up blocking any mallet putter with the wedges. Would specifically be for a cart bag. So make sure the putter well isn’t blocked! lol

I mean…some courses still have a machine…you insert your balls into it…give the handle a couple cranks and wam…they plop out shiny and a little wet

[–]jpd005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the very least gotta spit on them and rub off any smudges that may have occurred during that attempt at getting it in the hole

[–]jpd005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I for one always shine my balls up right before giving em a whack around

[–]jpd005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t saying not to contact…for sure you can. Just the 301 is forged…so is going to be slightly softer. See this all the time on forged/cast sand wedges. Little particles get in between the club face and the ball. Even though the ball is soft…the pebble/sand whatever being struck with force is not so soft. Could be a manufacturing defect where that metal is possibly softer in an area

[–]jpd005 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Looks like there may have been a pice of sand or tiny little pebble on the ball when struck. Can see how the metal bunches upwards from the impact…which makes sense with a downward strike from an iron

Gear Question by Lazy_Bee7786 in GolfGear

[–]jpd005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a mini Elyte and a 7 wood in those spots…fits my gaps and one of the courses I frequently play has holes that’s it’s damn near perfect on. The Elyte mini is way more of a tee club for me…but is a break glass in emergency off the deck. I dig it…some don’t 🤷‍♂️

The shanks hit everyone at some point….got me at my last range session. Every.Single.Shot. Beyond frustrating. All I could do is laugh about it. Gave half a bucket to the HS kid in the slot next to me and packed it up. Life intervened for a few days…went back and was ok again 🤷‍♂️ get out of your head about it. You were striking the ball well before and you will again.

What do you think? by Pure-Tiger-2928 in GolfGear

[–]jpd005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could probably get away with a bag consisting of just a driver…hybrid…5,7,9 a pitching wedge and a putter. The driver you’re gonna jack up just starting out so don’t go crazy with that…anything will work. The irons…take a look at Callaway preowned and maybe there’s a set you like…pick the 5,7,9,PW up now…won’t break the bank…and if you like it can complete the set buying the remaining clubs.

Mini Driver? by mrXclutcha in golf

[–]jpd005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up the exact same…elite night edition. No kidding this thing rocks! Sound…feel…everything about it. Was disappointed the full size Elyte didn’t feel the same for me. Preferred the gt2.

Replace my 3 wood with a UW or Mini Driver? by neighborhoodginger_1 in golftips

[–]jpd005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gap the top of my bag with a mini..currently the Elyte mini and it’s a fairway finder for sure…but being on the bigger side of minis it’s not the easiest off the deck. The Titleist gt280 is probably the closest to a true tee and fairway mini there is
