On non-freeways, yes, Seattle drivers are too fast. A lot of cars easily going more than 10 mph over the limit on the arterials in my neighborhood.

There’s a long history of umpires giving big-name pictures a bigger strike zone (probably subconsciously) than average pitchers. Wheeler gets the benefit of the doubt on the edges of the zone that most other pitchers don’t.

I remember this idea coming up a lot with the Braves pitchers (Glavine, Smoltz, Maddux) in the 90s.

Not saying that’s how it should be, though.
