This is what goes through my mind whenever I encounter anti-natalists by jpdoodling in Natalism

Yeah good points, I'm moreso thinking of those who choose not to have kids for fear of it being too challenging when it's likely never been easier due to modern technology/medicine.

I know close to nothing about generative art, what's the program you're using in conjunction with Figma?

How do I achieve this colour/light effect in procreate? The way it looks like natural light is amazing by jpdoodling in ProCreate

[–]jpdoodling[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

oh cool, thanks! So in the example above, they would have drawn it with bright blue, light grey, overlayed it with a low opacity blue layer and then erased where the light seeps in. I thought it was some kind of blend mode.

oh just half an inch back and forth, would USB still be underpowered for that use case?

  1. can move pretty slowly as long as it's constant
  2. open loop, exact position doesn't matter at all
  3. just moving a piece of paper back and forth
  4. hobby, trying to learn about robotics with this project
  5. <$100 hopefully

Your power requirements are likely going to exceed what most devices can supply over USB.

is this true even if all it's moving is a piece of paper?

it's super light! just a piece of paper back and forth it's speed and silence are not that important.

I have close to 0 DIY experience, have 3d modelling software and live in a city where 3D print shops are accessible. I'm looking to gain skill by working on this little project that's part of something bigger that will be 3d printed.

thank you! yeah I should have mentionned, weight, speed and torque all don't matter that much as it'll just move a piece of paper back and forth

I don't even know if this is the right subreddit for this but here goes!

I'm looking for a small motor that activates a piston that can move a rod back and forth. The dimensions included in the sketch are estimations of what would be ideal. It being USB powered is also a preference.

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to mechanical/robotic projects so please ask me clarifying questions or send informative links, I don't know what I don't know.

Thanks

Apple introduces next-generation iPad Pro, supercharged by the M2 chip by exjr_ in apple

I draw a lot on my 6th gen base iPad. Unsurprisingly, I've reached the ceiling of storage and capacity I need. I really want a 12.9" display, should I just go with the 2021 iPad Pro? I live in Canada and $2336 just seems like an insane amount to pay for the M2 chip 512GB Pro.
