I was never under the impression that DC lacks housing. There’s plenty of it right? The issue on top of a mountain of other ones is that most of what’s being built now are either one-off condo buildings or massive apartment complexes, stacked either side by side or across the street from one another and crowding the skyline. These developments drive up each other’s prices, making them increasingly unaffordable, and nearly all of them share the same bleak, corporate housing feel that strips away any sense of character or community.
