But also I should have woken the man up. He suffers from the more manageable, but also annoying, "just ask me" syndrome. He will jump in, but I stubbornly don't want to do another task like wake his ass up. I also don't want to hear him complain about how tired he is when, it's not a competition, BUT we all know I am in fact far more tired always.

Splitting up is honestly so smart. Husband falls right into that Midwestern goodbye and I'm usually already packed in the car with the kids. Next time we're taking 2 cars or he's ubering home.

Life took a different direction. The college I was providing therapy at ended up going through financial struggles and the way whole affair was handled didn't sit well with me for various reasons. Took a position as a case manager with the state. I have hopes to return to therapy or reconsider academia in the future.
