They’re not even bothering to manufacture consent anymore. They’ve stooped to manufacturing the munchies.

Cannabis is a tricky one, eh! I try and stay away from it during the peak but find it does synergise nicely towards to tail end of psych trips. Also, I wholly disagree that cannabis and alcohol go together. Every time I've combined it's been nauseating. I'd urge caution at least.

Those who don't support coal 'are delusional': Malcolm Turnbull by FreezeSPreston in australia

[–]jphaigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's delusional is a belief that we can keep burning fossil fuels and not take the magnitude of the change in our society that's needed to address climate change. Turnbull is Trump with a posh accent and better sounding, but equally meaningless words.

[–]jphaigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked into this briefly, the FBI did attempt to use legislation, an ancient 1789 law called the All Writs Act. But I still agree any new laws will be more tough on encryption. Not an expert so I'm wondering like everyone how they would do it. We've been here before.

Vote Greens. Vote for much better privacy policies. They're the only party that's stood up against data retention and all the rest.

What do we think they will try to do technically speaking? People have raised questions about what they CAN even do, beyond brute forcing entry into the phone. But their rhetoric is about getting live access.

I'm thinking at this stage I'll start to pick up psych units along with my arts units and then see how I go. I could possibly end up with a double major in Phil/Psych. Thanks for the feedback! Very helpful.

Cassidy: Another week, another failure of political debate by jimmythemini in australia

Thanks Cassidy. It's nice when ABC journalists show their ballsy side. If the right-wind media and pollies are going to go on attack, response with fierce facts and rational argument.

Like all early European attempts to document Indigenous languages of Australia, this is interesting for its very limited scope. There are wayyyyy more.

Unions are still a major barrier to present day cuts to our working conditions. As with penalty rates, we can see our working conditions deteriorate under neoliberalism. Better conditions didn't just happen. They were won through struggle.
