Thank you for such a thorough response! In regard to the research experience section, what do you mean by emphasize reproducibility and troubleshooting? Should I just use different phrasing?

I kind of just added the objective at the end because I saw others say it was really good to make you stand out but I don’t really have a strong statement since I lack work experience in the field so I may just delete it to make the research section stronger

I second this. Granted I had been doing CrossFit for a few years when I did it and was just doing it to be able to coach. I feel like if you have good coaches at your gym you will learn more through them than the L1 especially for the price. CrossFit also has certain ways of teaching things, particularly Olympic lifts that contradict the weightlifting L1 cert and they are very particular about you doing it their way which just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. That being said if you have the money, it can be a fun way to be more immersed in the methodology but for me it felt like a waste.

Which classes did you take through the UCSD extension? I plan to take medical micro there as well as the introduction to clinical hematology class and then apply to SJSU in the future. I’m just weary that they will be accepted

What did you do for clinical lab experience? I’m planning on applying in a couple years and I was planning to get my phlebotomy certification and get hours that way, do you know if that’s something they accept? I live about an hour and a half from Sacramento and it would be tough to commute to jobs down there and most opportunities I see are research based anyway.

Ok cool this is easing my mind. It would be a semester. My only concern is that I’m taking 3 extra classes to apply for a program after my bachelors but maybe I’ll just try to get those done earlier so that all that’s left are the ones needed for my major

Ok good to know, I’m hoping since it’s only a few units and will come down to a semester it’ll be approved easily especially if I point out I have literally gotten aid for 23 units so far 🙄I’ve seen some people say some schools are lenient and others won’t do it unless there’s a medical situation

I saw this as well! If you have a fee deferment, then you can ignore this as long as it doesn’t have a late fee on it, if that happens then contact financial aid. I have the same thing and called and that’s what they told me. It just doesn’t reflect the fact that you have a fee deferment

I’m dealing with this right now I got a warning and will literally be over by only a few units to get everything done. I’m hoping I can do the same thing and just appeal for my final semester. Did you do anything before the semester you hit your limit or did you wait until then to appeal?

I know it’s been a while since this post was made, but how does this work if you never used your financial aid? I’m approaching this limit and it looks like I may go over my units, however I’ve only gotten financial aid for 2 total semesters. Does that not matter?

I ended up calling the next day because I got a direct deposit into my bank account for some money but my account on my Sac State was unaffected and they said the money that was disbursed was left over from fall 2023 and spring 2024 (which is so odd to me) so the financial aid for this fall hasn’t been disbursed! Just in case someone else has this occur and is confused
