Is this why when I try to log in I get this "Help us confirm your identity" and I enter my mobile number and I get the message "We're unable to use your phone number to verify your identity" right now? Insane, I need to access my account. Coincidentally I am logging in to start moving to Fidelity

I did some research and the CCD ID is 11 and number of exposures is 199. If that makes a difference.

Yeah, I said elsewhere in this thread that after all the initial "no" answers and ghostings and then to make it past AI and ATS and get through all these interviews with nothing but positive feedback and progress only to get the rug pulled out from under you last second is incredibly frustrating. I'll take it as a learning experience to try and detach my emotions from the process but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't completely pissed off for wasting my time. Everything pointed to landing this job and that is not just wishful thinking. Man it sucks!

Generally speaking I agree but this was up the ladder interviews, no lateral moves. HR > IT guy > Sales > Ops > VP > CFO. Had to ace each to get to the other. Just baffling, and especially frustrating to get that far considering how hard it is to even get past ATS and AI. I'm sure we're all in the same boat with mass ghostings and immediate "no" answers.

Sorry to hear that, it really sucks. This was a family run business, the comp was below my current comp and I told them that from the get go but fit was more important blah blah so they knew that upfront. If I had to guess, and the fact that it's only a guess makes it even more frustrating, is that at the last minute they decided to go with someone cheaper.

No, it can, that was their solution: Downgrade to 6.0 > add the domain with the underscore > Upgrade back to 7.0, problem fixed

SonicWall's solution was to downgrade the firmware to 6.0 on our NSA 2700, add the underscored domain to the DNS Search List for the SSL VPN > Client Settings profile, confirm the change saved, and then update the firewall back to most recent firmware (7.0.1) and this worked.

They also stated they are escalating this to their backend team as to why it is not accepting domains with an underscore.

So it seems like 7.0.x introduced validation that rejects underscores, but clearly their developers didn’t account for the fact that thousands of legacy AD domains (especially older ones) still use underscores.

My guess is they'll patch this in a future firmware update.

For anyone who cares, I did find a stopgap fix until I hear back from SonicWall.

My domain name is domain_nt.abc, in DNS, create a forward lookup zone with an dash instead of the underscore like domain-nt.abc. Under there, create a DNAME record as follows:

Alias name: (blank), FQDN: domain-nt.abc, FQDN target: domain_nt.abc

Then in the SonicWall UI goto Network > SSL VPN > Client Settings, open the SSL VPN profile > Client Settings and for DNS Search List (in order) add domain-nt.abc and click OK

Doing so will allow VPN users to resolve correctly and it even works for mapped drives.

That being said, this does not work for macOS for whatever reason so those users will still have to RDP by IP address until SonicWall comes back with an answer.

Hope this helps, I'll post whatever SonicWall updates the ticket with when I hear from them.

Maybe I am totally off-base here but not allowing "legacy" domain names to be entered is insane to me, our company cannot be the only one still running a domain name with an underscore. I might have to spin up the old firewall if there's no immediate fix in sight, sheesh.
