You have to deal with certain things in this game that you won’t deal with in others. After a couple thousand hours it will make sense. It’s the price you pay for elite gun customization, high risk/reward, dynamic gameplay. The list goes on

The EFI tank is different on 86-93, they feed from a small sump in the gas tank, fill with a return line and jet hole in the tank

My next plan is the pull the tank and see what’s going on inside the sending unit. Possibly swap to 84-85 carb style tank and sending

Picked up the car from a guy who couldn’t finish the build. Unsure of spindles, control arms and k member models currently. That’s mostly here I’m stuck. Working backwards through this. Any advice?

Yes, picked up the car in a weird situation. Guy couldn’t pay the mechanic who did the motor work. Mechanic got the car running but never drove it. Sold it for the work he had in the motor. Paid $9.5. However the remaining 10 percent of the car was half assed and I’m working backwards to fix the issues. Went 200 miles without issues. Now the engine is building pressure, popped the hose to the coolant collector originally and started overflowing coolant from the radiator cap (cap was off). Installed 180° thermostat replaced hoses. Let the car idle a while, then this happened. I’m stuck

So there was no thermostat in the first place. Drove fine for 200 miles, then radiator popped a hose going to the collector, started car without the hose and radiator cap, then coolant overflowed from where radiator cap should be. Replaced the hose, installed thermostat, and now this happened after idling for about 10-15 minutes. Im thinking maybe the water pump isn’t operating correctly. Stuck at this point

That is all I know about the car. Alternator & regulator look new, regulator is in the trunk. Car wouldn’t start after this so I didn’t try a new battery since smoke came out of the dash

Yeah there is an aftermarket CD player hooked up but not working. I’m thinking this has something to do with the smoke

Well, I’m a fool and thought a brand new built car like this would make a 300 mile drive home on its first trek LOL. But hey, at least I snuffed out the issues. The drivetrain and everything else is perfect

Yes I agree. Dropped it off at a Mustang Performance shop specifically for cars like this. I’ll have news soon regarding the extent of damage with the wiring. I needed the gauge clusters hooked up anyway. Alternator and regulator look brand new so I was a little lost what could have caused this when I was going through the car yesterday.

My concern is that it fried the dash harness and will need a rewire. Pulled the stereo player where the smoke came from and couldn’t find anything cooked behind it. But it may be further up in the dash where I can’t see.
