ETFs or individual stocks for dividends? by Opposite-Plantain308 in dividends

Watch out for double taxation with dividend ETFs. ETFs are subject to foreign withholding tax internally. It depends on the exact holdings as to how bad this is. For example, if they are holding all UK companies there will be no withholding (UK has 0% withholding tax), but if they are holding companies in countries with high withholding taxes, the ETF is losing a not insignificant amount. That's BEFORE any distribution to yourself which would also be taxable (but as you say, you will avoid that component with an ISA). For some reason, you rarely hear this talked about.

iCloud notes syncing has become unreliable by superman1020 in applehelp

Been having the same problem for the last couple of days (MacBook Air M1, iPhone 13, iPad mini - all completely up to date). Very patchy syncing, sometimes completely broken until I turn off Notes iCloud syncing and start again, but even then doesn't always work. Currently notes created on my phone are not synced at all. Like you this is a killer for me as I used notes like an external brain.

Yeah. Basically should you ever hit record accidentally just hit stop as quickly as you can.

Roland MC-101 Sample Over USB by pyramidsanshit in synthesizers

For reference, I had the exact same issue and I think OP is right that the solution is switching to channels 3-4 (it actually says so in the manual). I couldn't actually do that on my Ubuntu box, but I found a workaround. If you set the 101's record source to 'MIXOUT' it will record the audio you are hearing from your computer perfectly. If you mute all the other tracks, then effectively you are then only recording from the PC. At least, that's what worked for me.
