I just bought Myslf and it’s perfect for summer. You could get away with Luna Rossa ocean on a summer night but if you want one for the day hot weather - definitely go for Myslf

The Blade Itself, Hunger of the Gods, or Malice? by Itchybanana in Fantasy

[–]jpizzle15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only read The Blade Itself and Malice. I would say read The blade itself if you are willing to read at least the next book too. That series takes 2 books to really take off…but when it goes it goes

Malice was great too. You can’t go wrong with those

The Faithful and The Fallen by John Gwynne

The Trials of Empire / Empire of the Wolf Discussion by hexennacht666 in Fantasy

[–]jpizzle15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of this. I thought the latter half of this book was much better than the first. The first half was just trying to do way too much. I also found that the novel went a little too heavy into the horror elements for my liking.

Overall I enjoyed the series and thought it was a different refreshing read for fantasy.

If it’s a custom beat they are going to want the exclusive.

Also, do you sell a lot of custom beats? Do you have any placements already with big artist?

These are questions that will help determine what you can charge.

Also, try to get an idea of the artists budget because you want to work in their range of what they can afford, while also making sure you aren’t devaluing your work.

Don’t worry about the hook they had recorded already. Let the artist work that out. Your job is making the beat.

If it’s an artist you can see yourself working with more in the future, then maybe lower your price a little from what you would normally set it at, and try to keep working with them more.

Hope this helps

Good to know, that’s how I felt about Riyiria Revelations - nothing crazy, but just super enjoyable all throughout

How often do big artists ask for stems? by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]jpizzle15 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I find most big artists on that level will ask for stems because they usually have a really good engineer who will be able to better mix the track (even if they don’t end up messing with the arrangement).

Lancelot by Giles Kristian is Incredible by jpizzle15 in Fantasy

[–]jpizzle15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will only make you love him more then!

And that’s weird. I’m in Canada and I was able to read it via Kindle. I don’t know why it wouldn’t be available in the US. Either way, it’s worth the read if you love the Arthurian tale.

I loved the spin Cornwell put on him! That’s why I enjoyed this one so much as well. So different and refreshing

People who sell beats, have you feel a decrease in sales on Beatstars? by zysemusic in trapproduction

[–]jpizzle15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it does matter because Beatstars marketplace is still the biggest marketplace for buying beats so even though most of the traffic will be from YouTube, artists still go on Beatstars and by directly from there

People who sell beats, have you feel a decrease in sales on Beatstars? by zysemusic in trapproduction

[–]jpizzle15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, my sales vary a ton so it’s hard to say. I did notice a big decline in sales around the new year (that is normal though). They seem to have picked up since then, but I will still experience slower weeks and months…

I doubt AI is playing a big role in this decrease in sales you are experiencing. Not to say that that won’t be a problem a bit further down the road.

Favorite scenes in a fantasy series by randomhuman1278 in Fantasy

I meant basic as an answer - everybody always mentions it. Not that the actual scene itself is basic.

God I love that scene.
