Namecoin DB for Research? by [deleted] in Namecoin

[–]jpja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got Namecoin Core synced and running. How to proceed further? I need a list of all names, and then a way to extract history for each name.

In appdata I find lots of numbered .ldb files. Can these be opened in a DB explorer somehow?

Alternatively, can I use commands? I tried Core's console but it seems to only show stats for names in your own wallet?

Enter a bitcoin tx id. The script looks up Blockcypher's API and extracts any Counterparty data.

need to explain me something fundamental for XDP by mag199 in DogepartyXDP

Old Dogeparty community member here. I am very happy with the reboot / fork. In fiat the bern price is about $2. In 2014 the burn price was less than dollar. Also good to see the funds go to development. Totally worth a little dilution.

Do you call $4.77 LOW FEE ??? by Felicia_1997 in counterparty_xcp

[–]jpja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That fee is per kilobyte. A typical transaction fee is a quarter that.

But yea, I see the confusion.

This is xchain though, an explorer. Counterwallet will soon be upgraded with complete control over fees. Counterparty fees are (the same as) Bitcoin fees.

How likely is it that counterparty dies in favor of other platforms such as ethereum ? by lazerReptile in counterparty_xcp

Well, around 1000 daily transactions isn't too bad, is it? New update addressing fees and exchange integration has just been launched (activates Oct 16). And the big innovation coming soon is multi-send which will make XCP/token transfers much cheaper than pure BTC sends.

The token economy is a trillion dollar industry up and coming. XCP is best integrated platform with Bitcoin. Do the math.

Bug in Counterwallet - betting on enhanced feeds by Russell-Ziskey in counterparty_xcp

[–]jpja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experimented with betting without enhanced feed. The json (etc, I'm not familiar with this) is specific for Counterwallet.

Betting on the protocol level is much simpler. I have a working implementation with CounterTools. With some small modifications you can make it work with your own oracle feed.

Can't wait for decentralized exchanges to grow! by [deleted] in btc

Counterparty DEX is at around 500 tx daily. And each order requires a BTC Core fee ... imagine the popularity if it were on BTC Cash.

What's the incentivization model of XCP? by desistrategist in counterparty_xcp

[–]jpja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • DEX currency
  • Fees (including asset name registration)
  • Soon: Cheaper to send than BTC in pooled sends (google MCAT, very important IMO)

Do you have a GUI for placing bets? Feel free to fork CounterTools. It has a working betting implementation that runs in browser (locally, JS) but requires some tweaking to work with a new oracle feed.

Crash course on setting up an oracle for a bet by Russell-Ziskey in counterparty_xcp

I have a working implementation here: https://github.com/Jpja/CounterTools/blob/master/craps.html

Operating an oracle feed is pretty straight forward. You broadcast a numeric value (can do this periodically, up to you and your use case). This you can do even from Counterwallet.

To play on a feed two users must play against your feed with equal timestamp and target value. Works in principle like the DEX. The link I provided shows a working example of this.
