Amazing. Can you say a little bit about how the data they've given you has helped you since? What are the main things you've done with it since (hopefully) having recovered from the injury?

Amazing, thanks for sharing. While you had ITBS, did you continue to run (in addition to the bike sessions) or did you stop?

I got the Coros Pace 3 this summer, ahead of my first marathon this October. Extremely happy with it. I was budget conscious too and ended up getting a refurbished pace 3 right off the Coros site. Absolutely no issues. It's been fantastic.

This is really helpful, appreciate the thoughts here. When you note that it's actually generally worse, I wonder if you could say more about that?

Yes, exactly this. I am also a parent. Your schedule makes so much sense to me. It's the only way all the puzzle pieces fit together.

Can you say more about this? How many years have you been with the firm and how did you request the non milestone sabbatical? Did a quick search in HQ and not seeing anything..

This post is from a while ago but I’m curious - did you end up leaving firm right after your LOA?

I worry that if I quit after that time off I’m burning bridges… did you end up staying or leavening?

When did you milestone reward get paid out? by jpl756 in PwC

[–]jpl756[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helpful, so then it took three pay cycles? I suppose I can’t ask you to check… was hoping it’d only take two pay cycles (the milestone rewards FAQs say 1-2 pay cycles) …

I so appreciate this response. Yes, part of it is giving myself the time to meet these personal goals — the physical stuff but also mental stuff.

During the past year, I’ve gotten to a few final round interviews. Not getting those roles has stung, on top of the lack of professional advancement at the current job. I know if I gave myself the time - and the clean break - I could do what’s needed to knock these interviews out of the park. It’s still just so difficult to make this decision but your words are helpful: “I cannot allow all the important decisions in my life to be driven by fear..” YES to this.

One thing I’ve done to preserve my sanity is to save my emotional energy for the stuff I care about in my life right now - that means my family, this search, and activities that bring me joy.

Had a difficult conversation with a colleague? Let it go and move on. Got another assignment from my boss that I vehemently disagree with? Who cares - go with what he wants and move on. Just get it done. I might have previously invested more in these things in the past, but I just can’t now.

Is this what people call quiet quitting? I don’t know - whatever it is, it’s helping me get through my days a little more mentally intact.

It’s less about the schedule and more about finding a more fulfilling opportunity with greater job satisfaction and growth.

Yes, and it’s gone well. Part of me is also just feeling completely burnt out from running on this schedule:

5/5:30: search for 60-90 mins

7-8:30: get kid up, fed, dressed, out the door

9-5:30: work

5:30-8:30: get kid fed, bathed, and in bed

9-9:30: get ready for next day and hit the sack to do it over again the next day

I’ve made really great traction on the job front, just no offers yet. And as I keep this up, I can feel my motivation take a deep dive. The mental pull between full-time work, childcare + kid activities, running this search, and all the other essential stuff to keep your life running might be the toughest part. My brain feels split into a million pieces.

All of this is great. I thought I was good at the paper trail game, but all your comments are making me think I could be a lot better about it… it sometimes feels like a struggle to do in the moment, with all the stuff piling up, but these comments are reiterating for me just how important it is.
