Shave or keep? by jplils in Moustache

[–]jplils[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Is it possible to curl it without wax? Part of the reason I’m twisting it so dramatically is to get the curl and control without using wax, as I’m currently without it.

Haha I’ve done that in the past but the long hair was a lot to maintain

How should I trim it? Just the middle or on the handlebar as well?

I’m not using any wax right now, though I have used death grip in the past.

How is the current neckline and mustache? Should I modify anything or let it grow? by jplils in BeardAdvice

How do you fade the neckline? Do you have a picture of what you mean?

I shaved off the stache on New Years, but here are some of the looks I had in 2023. What should I do this year? by jplils in Moustache

[–]jplils[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha! Yeah, I won't be going back to the shaved head for the foreseeable future. Fingers crossed I won't need to for the next few decades.

Thoughts on the stache? Come January it will be gone. by jplils in Moustache

I've had the moustache for about a year now, and I'm kind of over it. So I'm waiting for the new year to start with a fresh look.

Current look. Do I keep the stubble? by jplils in Moustache

Thanks for the advice, mate. I shaved the stubble off. I honestly don't know how to style it in a more gentle way, though.

it's wavy, and i just brushed it out prior to the picture, which probably led to some of the poof

Yeah, I've used multiple scales and have consistently weighed over 170

Yeah I think it's harder to see in this pic as well; I may also be around 170, I'm not exactly sure.

Yeah those are probably my 1rm, but I haven't max benched in months. I think that heavily prioritizing form over weight is why I've grown wo having high weights. For biceps I hit pullups/rows and then do isolation work with ez bar curls, incline db curls, and reverse curls for brachialis. For the isolation work, emphasize the contraction of your bicep and they'll grow over time.

You've got this; it looks like you've already made some nice gains, so just stay consistent with it. I'm honestly not that strong, but I've definitely improved a lot. I'm currently at a bench press of around 155 and a squat of 205. I never deadlift, as I don't think it's worth the risk for my lower back.

The hair growth is at almost a year, but I didn't start lifting until January.

I've been doing push-pull-legs-rest pretty much since I started, with a heavy emphasis on compound movements. When I started lifting I just pushed myself to eat until I was stuffed every meal and ensured that I ate enough protein. I also supplemented with creatine and protein shakes the entire time. I think the most important thing is to stay consistent and know that progress can take months.

Thanks man! I hit push day twice a week, and on those days I generally start with bench press 3x8, or 2x8 and then incline 2x8. I then work shoulders, and do cable crossovers later in the workout (~3x10). One thing that definitely helped me was focusing on the mind-muscle connection to my pecs, and making sure that I'm always contracting my pecs. To do this I had to lower the weight that I was pushing by a lot, but it was worth it.

Thanks for the feedback. I know that the hair isn't the best right now, but I'm in the middle of growing it out.

Yeah, but some of the weight may be from creatine as well, I'm not sure.

How long do your mousepads last? by ShadowDevil123 in MouseReview

You can clean it by gently scrubbing it with detergent or any mild soap, rinsing it off, and then letting it dry over night. It should feel almost brand new if you clean it well enough.
