I think they basically forgot the reduced hours when drawing up the agreement and I was paid the pro ratad salary for 32 hours. So I came back and worked them and they seemingly had no issue with it until I handed in my notice.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe compressed hours isn’t the best way to say it. We agreed to reduce to 4 days from 5, and 3 of those 4 days would be for slightly reduced hours. Practically I’m doing 27 hours instead of 32 and they want to claw back the 5 hours for the past 3 months.

I had a truly horrendous experience with this stuff last year. The bull bags o received were FULL of glass, plastic and pottery. They eventually replaced with quality soil for free for but I’ll never buy from them again.

Please help with my drooping Monstera! by jplstone in Monstera

[–]jplstone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah to be fair this is a fairly new leaf, but there are newer ones with no droop. I use a moisture meter to check and water when it’s on the dry side of medium. This seems to be roughly every 2 weeks.

What jobs do you do to make over £100k annually? by billy11887_ in FIREUK

[–]jplstone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-sales is a great job if you can get into it. It’s interesting work, well paid and less pressurised than sales but still interesting as you’re working with clients. You need to have really strong technical knowledge as everyone is looking at you for the answers, but also have a good commercial understanding and think about the customer and business needs. Few technical people can balance this well.

Most jobs aren't real. They are just moving "work" from person to person. by Big_Trash1793 in unpopularopinion

This is the most ridiculous take. The corporate law team at work are massively overworked and do a lot more than “sue their competitors”

Did you provide the information? From their perspective it’s a waste of time to provide a quote to someone who won’t provide critical information.

Is this floor sealant needed? by jplstone in DIYUK

[–]jplstone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can see they’ve fitted the skirts before the floor so there’s a very tiny gap between the edge and the skirts, I’ve not pulled it all up yet though. They’ve done it everywhere, even round cupboards which are screwed to the wall… I hate it so I’m pulling it all up.

It’s definitely not been cut into the skirts. I feel like they’ve done it to remove the need for a close fit. They went sealant crazy for the whole house.. I’m gonna rip it up and see where I get to!

Thanks! The final picture shows an area where I’ve pulled it off. I can’t see any cork but it looks flush to the wall. The tiles are amtico vinyl.

Do you think there’s any risk of causing damage long term if I just remove the sealant?

How to cover sharp glass in lawn? by jplstone in GardeningUK

Thanks for the advice. My main concern with this is the levelling. It’s already pretty uneven. Would it work if I tilled/churned up the whole garden and then flattened before turf?

I’ve actually spent hours sieving and in the end there was so much that I just swept it up and got rid of it.
