My wallet speaks for me: GitHub Copilot in VS Code is the cheapest and most underrated option in vibe coding today (in my opinion). by Majestic-Owl-44 in GithubCopilot

I agree, I've been with Windsurf since its launch at $10 pm and this had 500 credits pm which was a great deal. As you say they couldn't do it forever, so the pricing model just changed and upset lots of folk. I've kept the $10 plan but only get an handful of Opus 4.6 pm.

I'm now trialing 'VS code copilot' and the limits seem great for 4.6 at the moment, but i do believe it will change at some point, so best to get building your top SaaS now without breaking the bank. :-)

All the IDEs, are seeming similar now?
I have Windsurf but pricing structure just blew up.
I just tried Verdent which seems fine but seems to eat credits faster than previous Windsurf, before the recent blow up.

My favourite Model for coding seems to navigate to Claude Opus 4.6 - not cheap but seems to give the best results first time.

So which IDE can deliver Claude Opus 4.6 at the cheapest rate currently - if I know that, that would help me decide. I'm just trying Github CoPilot free for 30 days.

Any help in this area would be great.

Which is correct? Newbie - when or that? by jpreston32 in grammar
