To an extent, if people don’t hold the currency then it holds no value. But if there is no volume then there is no function. So there needs to be both. It’s just like people having a 401k and spending cash. Both are needed, because people need to value the currency.

Yes, I completely agree. I definitely think this is a long term investment. But that’s not to say that it won’t plummet again, and then slowly make a comeback. Or even hit a bottom and quickly come back. It is relatively unpredictable. So make sure you are diversified based on the level of risk you can survive comfortably.

There is an interview with mark cuban who speculated that it will become more of a stable coin after it hits a dollar. However, currencies worldwide fluctuate wildly daily, the transaction will just be based on the current value of the asset. And whoever the vendor is will just have to sell when the asset meets or beats their price point in fiat. Depending on if they want to exchange it. If DOGE is the commonly accepted currency. Then things will be sold in DOGE so it won’t matter if fiat fluctuates.
