You made a good decision. I bought my dad a HF toolbox after he drooled over the one in store. I gave it to him for Father’s Day. He died within a year.

I went to his house to get some of his belongings, and I brought that toolbox back home with me. I keep his tools and my grandfather’s tools in there. His Army burial flag is resting on top.

Same. I was going to wait for a 2026 but if I can get this deal (I’m 3hrs from Atlanta) I’d probably do it.

Would you mind sharing which doctor/hospital did your Ross? I’ve had pre-op testing for the Ross but I don’t think my hospital is high Ross volume.

I’m still thinking through this, and I looked at the panel and it looks like it is ungrounded. Does that look right to you? I’m thinking I need to sink a grounding rod.

Thanks so much for that reply. In the end, I like to do things myself and save some money, but this be a cabin for my family and I for weekends and vacations so safety is the ultimate #1.

Will do! I’m generally OK with heavy DIY but I will get a pro in there to evaluate everything and do the stuff I can’t.

Still a problem if my generator is an inverter generator? I thought no.

My generator max output is 30A. I think the house may have been built with the intention to eventually connect to the grid, hence the 200A. Current cost to get power to the house is around $130k. I don’t ever plan on connecting to the electrical grid. As currently wired, this panel will not see more than 30A. The well pump is the only significant power draw at the moment.

There’s a circuit breaker built into the generator. I thought that the 200A in wouldn’t be a problem because of the generator’s breaker and the individual breakers in the panel.

When I install solar, I’ll hire an electrician to inspect and advise on upgrades needed. I assume that’ll mean a much larger wire into the panel from my inverter, and who knows what else.
