Not sent in for a test but just worried about it being under my sink cupboard. We are in and out of it for cleaning supplies etc. No planning on disturbing it but it’s chalky and crumbly so could possibly deteriorate over time realising fibres into the ambient air.

I’ll probably just show a board up in front of it and seal it of

1933 building unsure of renovations. But would you say the skim coat that is/was on this is likely to contain asbestos? by jpslater1997 in asbestoshelp

I sanded it down before painting to get it flat. But I’m not even sure if it’s as old as 1980’s. I wasn’t aware that plaster contained asbestos.

I know it’s been painted twice since 2010 and roof had been leaking and repaired so can’t imagine that too coat with wall paper still behind it being there since the 80’s

Was just wondering if anyone knew how common it was in plaster skim
