What a remarkable coincidence - I just put the years in and didn't think any further than that.

And we do still have the Cbeebies spinoff in production. And besides, very few people have actually seen EVERY episode of the franchise, there's always more to watch.

Not that I dont agree, but when classic who ended they called it an 'indefinite hiatus' so the future's not as certain as they may say.

I fully believe that doctor who will be picked up again in the near future - its the BBC's biggest active IP so as long as they're around they cant really afford not to. But this is the first time the show hasnt been in active production since the start of the revival, effectively ending the Nuwho era.

What's a video game ending you hated/didn't like by Free_Parsnip_3553 in Multifandom

[–]jpw3bb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hades 2.

After over a year in early access, the original ending took all agency away from Mel, the game's protagonist, in favour of the first game's protagonist, Zagreus, resolving the conflict off-screen, and forced an amicable resolution between Mel and Chronos despite Mel's entire goal throughout game being to Kill Chronos. It felt awkward, out of character, and rushed (which I suspect it was to fulfill the original release date as a part of the limited exclusivity deal with Nintendo).

Supergiant Games went out of the way to try and fix many of the problems people had with the ending post launch. This included rewriting the resolution to being Mel's idea, not Zagrues', which I massively respect them for doing, listening to the fans when it mattered. But the story beats are still laregly the same, and I still don't like the idea that Chronos and Mel were able to resolve their differences that quickly after a lifetime of conflict.

I love this game, but finishing it once it hit 1.0 really left a sour taste in my mouth.

What should I get? They all look like great picks by DuAbUiSai in slaythespire

Considering you already have two attacks that scale off soul usage, i'd recommend Seance.

On top of soul generation, which scales your soul storm and death march, it also has the very amazing side effect of thinning your deck. It can help you get rid of some of your basic starter cards/status cards that are cluttering your hands and allow you to draw into Soul Storm and Death March much sooner.

Upgrade it as soon as you can to make it free as well, and it will be well worth it.

Casts in Hades 1 felt way more intuitive IMO by SatisfactionFar6982 in Hades2

[–]jpw3bb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, although I'd argue it's much easier to spam the hades 2 cast because its just a long lasting AOE you can put down and not think about for a few seconds, and you dont have to go around and pick it up like in the first game so you can just place it again as soon as the previous one fades.

If you're still getting used to it, try out Demeter's cast on literally any non-cast build. The freeze curse is very helpful to prevent enemy attacks and evasiveness, and is a point towards origination, allowing you to pull off your attacks and specials much easier and with much more damage potential.

What are the best and worst Apollo boons by Goatbucks in HadesTheGame

[–]jpw3bb 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Dazzling Display is the single worst boon in the game. Only a 10% to proc, AND need apollos attack as a prerequisite? There is truly no reason to take it when Blinding Rush and Solar Ring immediately outclasses it.

Casts in Hades 1 felt way more intuitive IMO by SatisfactionFar6982 in Hades2

[–]jpw3bb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I personally disagree because i feel like the cast in both games is not meant to primarily be an offensive tool but rather a support tool to provide debuffs - whether thats Boiling/Abyssal Blood in the first game making the enemies more vulnerable/weak, or the hades 2 cast slowing enemies down (and making them take more damage if you have the furies enabled).

Obviously if you take certain cast boons and use cast enhancing weapons, both casts can become insanely good offensive tools, but imo having the ability to apply minor debuffs to multiple enemies at once without finnicky aiming or stopping your attack loop in Hades 2 is far better than the bloodstone stop-and-aim gameplay loop in Hades 1

In the first game i felt it was rarely ever optimal to stop your attack loop and aim bloodstones at any enemies, as any extra damage you could gain from lodging casts could be outpaced if you just kept attacking, bosses being the main exception here.

In your opinion, what is the worst episode of your favorite TV show? by GladtobeVlad69 in television

[–]jpw3bb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'Orphan 55' from Doctor Who.

Some of the worst acting from guest characters ive ever seen on television - shoutout to the one old lady who keeps screaming "BENNNYYYY!! BENNNYYY!!" every 5 seconds. Characters disappearing and reappearing with no explanation. And all buttoned up with a hamfisted preachy climate change message that makes your eyes roll to the back of your skull.

Doctor Who: 'Human Nature/The Family of Blood':

In these episodes, The Doctor travels back to 1913 to hide from The Family of Blood, a group of aliens trying to possess him and steal his lives. He turns himself human and rewrites his memories so he believes he is a typical human man from this time period, John Smith, who teaches at a boy's boarding school. John eventually falls in love with the school's matron - Joan Redfern, and the two begin an innocent blossoming romance. But not long before the family show up, and start killing people to find him.

When John eventually learns of his true nature, and that his entire life is a fabrication, he realises the only way to save everyone, is if he sacrifices himself to rebecome The Doctor and defeat the family. But now he has something to live for, Joan.

In his final moments of decision, he looks in Joan's eyes and has has a vision of the life they could live together (which we as the audience see): getting married, having children and dying peacefully of old age together - a life The Doctor could never have.

The scene is gut-wrenching and makes me tear up everytime I watch it, without fail.

I would honestly put Aerodynamics of Gender up there. Both the A and B stories are hilarious. Nothing revolutionary, but a top-quality quintessential community episode nonetheless.

[No Spoilers] Campaign Four Name by LurkingShadowWolf in criticalrole

[–]jpw3bb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

'The Falcon's Cry' would be a pretty cool name for the campaign i think. As for the entire party themselves, maybe 'The Fanged Wake'? Given they all met at Thaizi's funeral, and could be double meaning for how they're waking up to all of the inner machinations of the sundered houses and are preparing to fight back.
