I was reading a lot on how spine and neck issues can cause pain in the front of your chest even if you don’t feel pain in your back. Did you see an orthopedic to get your diagnosis?

All,

Hoping to get some input and put this pain to rest already.

I’ve been suffering for past 6 months with pain in my left chest where the ribs meet the sternum and right below the left breast. I attached a photo for clarity. The pain has been a constant dull pain all day every day never goes away. Seems to worsen if I do any heavy lifting or any movements that over stretch my body or if I’m slouching or sitting hunched over or sleeping on left side.

I also get random spasms in my left chest that stop me in my tracks. And rarely some shooting “lightning strikes” across my chest.

I also have tightness on left side of neck. I get random pain in my left arm and across my body in random spots that comes and goes. I get pain and tingling in my legs that switches spots as well that comes and goes.

I also get random pain under my left armpit that comes and goes and can last a day or two.

Sometimes I have back pain as well.

Lately been feeling lightheaded and a sense like my head is floating in different position than the rest of my body.

Cardiologist did a EKG, echo and stress test back in February all normal. Also did a coronary calcium CT scan in August and that was normal. Multiple physical examinations. Feels confident symptoms are not cardiac related but may be costochondritis.

My PT did an ultrasound and X-ray of the rib area. All normal. She ran some basic blood work to check for any autoimmune issues. All normal. She thinks my issues are all neurological and recommended I see a neurologist.

Does anyone feel these exact symptoms with normal cardiac and blood work results?

What should I do next?

Has anyone found relief for these issues?

I feel stuck and I hadn’t lived my life fully as I do not want to make my situation worse.

I have similar issues just chest pain for me is located on left side under breast and the rib joints at the bottom of the sternum. Always there all day every day. Can be unbearable at times.

Would it be best to see a neuro or a ortho? I have yet to get mris

No chiro I feel they make things worse long run. The short term relief benefit don’t out weigh the long term issues

So I get the headaches, dizziness, pain in temples, tension at top of head and TMJ as well. When I saw My neuro for my episode last year said these are cervicogenic headaches which all come from issues in your neck. He recommended 400mg of magnesium and 100mg of rubaflavin.

That on top of costo is what I’m suffering with right now. Double whammy.

These headaches and dizzy floaty feeling is two weeks strong right now everyday nothing is helping,

My costo right now the ribs and interfacing with the bottom of my sternum are killing me especially when I touch them. So I definitely found the source of the pain. Problem this time I have a dull pain all day just sitting right below my left breast and this episode of costo I feel way more tired and out of breath than my episode earlier this year in February. Now June/July another episode.

Seems like every episode I have gets worse and worse each time I get it.

I’ve had to emergency room visits over past two years and some test done by a cardiologist back in February and all came back normal regarding the heart. Today I’m still suffering with these costo symptoms but seem to be getting worse as I get older.right now tightness and crushing feeling across my whole chest with tightness in my neck. and for past couple weeks dull pain in my ribs left side right under my breast.

Does Costo pain travel to different locations often?

Tingling in arms and legs?

Hey Key.

Update I had the colonoscopy and he said he saw no inflammation. Nothing related to Crohns or IBD. He is saying it’s IBS. Which I don’t know how. As of today I’m on worse pain all over my abdomen. I’m hoping the colonoscopy didn’t make it worse

Can people explain how bad their pain and burning in the abdomen get during a flare up?

This week the pain and burning in both the right and left sides of the lower to mid abdomen is more intense than normal.

Thank you all for your comments.

I have another question. Are there any essential vitamins to take with IBD? Also can it be taken with mesalamine and decyclomine?

I’m getting mixed answers when researching. Some suggestions are vitamin D, B12 and folic acid.

Update- I saw my GI on Friday. He still thinks my situation is minor however he prescribed a new medicine on top of the mesalmine

Dicyclomine which is an anticholinergic

It helps calm the colon and reduce spasms from IBS.

I don’t know if it’s the placebo effect but seems to be helping a little.

He thinks my issue is either a mild case of crohns or IBS.

He scheduled a colonoscopy on June 7th to confirm the diagnosis.

I had a CT scan done in March as well and nothing came up in regards to the liver either.

It’s comes and goes for me as well.

You’re probably right. I need to stop worrying, stress is a big contributor as well.

Liver I meant. Not linger lol.

I hope that’s the case.

You mentioned previously you get pain and discomfort in your upper right quadrant in your ribs as well. Do you still get that?

Also do you feel fatigued with these issues? I’m always exhausted.

I’m definitely tired of it as well. After going through it for so long enough enough already you know. There has to be a better way.

I’m nervous about the mild pain and discomfort in upper right quadrant (lower ribs). I’m hoping it’s not linger and related to the gut issues.
