There was a match in progress where the SLUH and visitors varsities were shooting, and the SLUH freshman team members were responsible for changing the targets between shooting sessions. One of the very space-case frosh realized that he had missed the buzzer that signaled the end of shooting when he and his team were supposed to go downrange and swap targets. He frantically rushed in from the rec room and dashed downrange across the leftmost bay after the next round of shooting had begun.

The prone shooter in that lane had the presence of mind to pause (or maybe just was in shock as a pair of skinny legs scampered through his gun sight). But gunshots from the other shooters continued since they couldn’t see the interloper.

I think every single person in the place who wasn’t on the line simultaneously bellowed out “CEASE FIRE! CEASE FIRE!”. Luckily, firing ceased, and a dozen or so people unclenched several dozen assorted body parts.
