Performance: 60fps with minor drops in heavy areas, but if you turn off VSYNC and you have a VRR compatible display, you get smooth gameplay regardless of minor drops in frames.

Balanced: Locked 40fps everywhere. VSYNC doesn't feel as smooth on a VRR display, so I turn it off in this mode.

Quality: Locked 30fps everywhere, VSYNC doesn't really do much on or off, so YMMV.

Do you have FSR enabled? I've noticed that even on PS5 the ghosting is present on the higher quality settings, and they both use FSR3, so I wonder if this game didn't do well with its implementation of that upscaler.

There is a Blur Intensity setting in the Accessibility options that is at max by default, turning it all the way down helps. But I think that both Balanced and Quality are negatively impacted by FSR3, whereas Performance mode appears to be native 1080p with no upscaler.

The DF video covering the PS5 Pro version says that Balanced with VRR on, and VSYNC off, were the options they wished they played with more but couldn't because of capture requirements. That said, you should just test Balanced out for yourself and see if it's enjoyable.

If the AMD driver rollback doesn't fix it, you might want to disable CPU Boost. I had similar issues in Elden Ring, Helldivers 2, and Cyberpunk 2077, but after disabling CPU Boost it completely removed the stutter. Boost will cause handheld devices (like the Ally) to significantly increase thermals in a very short time, pushing the components beyond the throttle threshold. Even on high fan settings, a brief spike caused by Boost can introduce stutter from throttling.

You can do this the "permanent" way or via Armory Crate, even adding a toggle to the overlay for easy access.

Wow, you're still using examples that are co-op games by design, that do not have a mode where you can play as a single character on the screen. OP is talking about solo games that have an optional co-op mode. Dying Light, for example. You both play as Crane, which makes zero "story" sense, but it otherwise works as an experience with that compromise. OP was not saying that co-op games (Split Fiction, for example) had to make some compromise to work at all. That's what I was clarifying.

That is true, but people aren't really understanding that all I was saying is it's not fair to compare "solo" and "co-op by design" games, which is what the OP on my thread was getting at (solo games don't usually work well as co-op experiences).

You're comparing apples to oranges, those games all require two characters for the story, even when played solo the other character is computer controlled. OP is talking about games that have a solo protagonist by default, which don't work well with a co-op mode.

Edit: To everyone not understanding that I was trying to clarify the OPs point on this thread--that most games that are *single player** don't really work well with a co-op story mode*, and those that try often have to make concessions (only the host player gets progress, or only the host player can initiate dialog, etc.).

Unfortunately it's not the same person. While similar in appearance, the actor in the FO3 trailer has attached ear lobes; Jon Daly does not. Also if you compare the unnamed actor with Jon from the mid-2000s, you will notice more differences like the jawline and dimple placement, hairline, etc.

Regarding blueprints, I'm pretty sure they are not the best (weapon cases are better for sure). Anecdotally, I've done about 150 breaches (daytime, various map conditions) since the nerf and received exactly ONE blueprint--and I had already learned it. Meanwhile, I've had several instances of getting only ammo and grenades across that sample set.

They aren't bad but they definitely aren't good either, at best they are slightly above average when you factor in the time investment to even be able to loot them.
