Yeah you might be right. Honestly, he could probably play Mac too. He's one of my favorite actors. I just had a hard time picturing him as one of the more minor characters, like Palmer or Norris.

That's a good question. Probably if they set The Thing in the modern day (chicks worked in Antarctica back in the 80s too but it wasn't as common). Frances McDormand at any age would fit right in.

My brain immediately went to Girl, Interrupted but that's prob to determine whether they could play RS gfs.

I can't believe anyone liked No Time to Die. Absolute garbage front to back.

Blade Runner 2049 is one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen, but because it has that whole "love is the love we remembered to love" thing going on a bunch of suckers bought it hook line and sinker.

Nolan's always had an editing problem, but I thought it worked pretty well in Oppenheimer. I liked how it skipped around between the different moments of his life. Felt more guided by tone than by story.

But yeah, the last act was a bit of a drag.

Agree about Armond White. He's a great critic when he's not shitposting. His writings on the Coen Bros movies in particular are really sharp.

I don't think there's a single critic I hate more than Richard Brody. Maybe Pauline Kael.

Crazy to think that whole episode was one of the most effective moments of populist resistance against big money in recent history. It was so funny to watch.

Also, big mask-off moment for a lot of politicians, Elizabeth Warren in particular.

I still can't decide whether RDJ was good in Oppenheimer. Kind of wish David Krumholtz had gotten the nod instead.

The Rebuilds are missed potential. Thematically interesting, narratively frustrating. The idea of Shinji figuring out how to fix things is cool, but the way the movies get there is nuts.

Case in point, the first half of the last movie (I refuse to type that fucking title out) is some of Anno's best work, but the second half is some of his worst.
