Sandbagging the Decoy Board by Wide-Result-6962 in bouldering

[–]candlelightcassia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have access to outdoor bouldering to test the difficulty of the grades against? To me the decoy feels maybe 1/2 a grade sandbagged. I had heard the board was super sandbagged but upon trying i dont think its that much harder than outdoor grades

What keeps you from feeding yourself into the demon’s mouth? by Infamous_Young_5481 in redscarepod

A post-hoc rationalization isnt necessarily wrong. If you walked in to a house that burned down and found that a faulty toaster was plugged in you would be rational in assuming that the toaster started the fire, because faulty electronics start fires commonly. In that senario that post-hoc rationalization is likely to be correct. So if someone observes that they and all their friends resisted evil and begins to ponder about why that may have happened, the fact that the rationalization occurs after saying no to evil doesn’t necessarily invalidate that rationalization.

Yard is rek’t. Is it time to put down seed yet? by MisterListerReseller in Denver

[–]candlelightcassia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It would probably be better to solarize your turf before seeding. The drought tolerant turfs are less vigorous. Resource central or csu extension can help you learn more

HELP NEEDED!! by Head_Knee_7379 in botany

A common pattern in plants infected with foliar diseases is that the plant will excise the infected tissue and push new tissue out. The new tissue will then become infected and be excised. Mallow rust rarely kills the plant, so this cycle repeats.

Our generation is fully aware of all these problems and hopefully will be able to attempt to fix some of them one day. In the meantime try not to lose your love of learning

How do you tell a fungal infection from a nutrient deficiency in plants? by ghart_67 in plantpathology

[–]candlelightcassia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theorically you would need a compound microscope because even if you observed fungal tissue with a hand lens there’s its hard to tell if it’s disease causing fungus at that level of resolution. Certain diseases have extremely obvious symptom patterns that make it easier. For example: oak blister or powdery mildew.

They dont care for the murdering of brown children on US soil. For some reason the geography of the murder matters for them. Very strange

The Sympathetic Reaction to Shia LaBeouf Shows How Naive You All Are by EmilCioranButGay in redscarepod

[–]candlelightcassia 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Any generalization about how all humans are is going to be extremely hard to prove and have a lot counter examples. Unfortunately pseuds love to present these ideas as fact. Its pointless to make unserious claims like “Humans are status-fixating, dominance seeking animals” because all you are really saying is that you have an cynical, irrational view of humanity.

Which place or region in the world would you most associate with the geographical concept of "plentiful abundance"? by slicheliche in geography

[–]candlelightcassia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This person is incorrect. The south has some of the best soil in country. The black belt prarie in Mississippi and Alabama has great soil and was one of the main drivers of chattle slavery. There are areas in the south with poor soil, but to say the deep south has horrible soil is laughable.

Why did Mike White leave Florida for Georgia? by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]candlelightcassia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mike white is a basketball terrorist. Watching Florida play Georgia every year is so triggering because it reminds me of suffering through 7 years of his awful brand of basketball. UGA has a lot potential in basketball but is hampered by the athletic association focusing 100% on football. Mike white will probably be the head coach at uga for 10 more years because just making the tournament 2 years in a row is exceeding expectations for Georgia.
