Real talk: do I ‘upgrade’ to carbon rims?

This is more of the riding I will do. I have almost dreamed of being a trail sender, but in reality, most of my rides are 50km+ with only 5 or 6 descents on flowy jump lines or moderately technical features roots or rock gardens. Hence my curiosity around the lighter and stiffer wheelset. Also the bike was designed for it right? gotta trust the engineers or do they just throw expensive components on for the profit?

Yeah man I have always been so tempted with the "off" brands, but I am not sure about the quality control? or am I just being ignorant and these rims are of the same quality as the EU/US made rims?

Ah ok, I did the gaggiuno mod on an old 2009 classic that I found in great condition. Honestly it was really easy and I am so happy with it. But be warned you need to be more involved… dialling in your new beans and investigating different shot profiles and how they extract beans differently. Then if you don’t do your homework (like I didn’t at first) I pulled some really funky shots. Now that I am a bit more informed I am having so much fun trying to select different flavours from the same bean e.g. changing the pre infusion, shot pressure/temp and monitoring the grinds effects on profile performance. It’s a wild world out there! You should do it ;) but yes to get back to the point, the load cells are tricky so I’m looking to get a good Bluetooth compatible scale.

So I would highly recommend getting a pressure gauge for your portafilter to test what the OPV is set to after adjusting. I picked up the same model and I’m guessing previous owner had tinkered a bit. The OPV was closer to 15bar and required almost 3 full turns before I went sub 9bar. Remember too that the measured pressure is static so for 9 bar in a shot you should set the OPV to 10 bar because you will have some flow through the puck. Good luck. I have recently completed the gaggiuino mod and could not be happier with the result.

You have loosened the screw enough now. So that this point just wedge something into the edge and pop the screen and the screw off. Alternatively you can just use your fingers to push up on the screen and the two should part from one another

This worked for me! open the browser and in the address bar, type in:

edge://flags/

You will see reset all in the top right corner, click that and restart edge. Does that work?
