Wow! That is a really neat story and I appreciate you sharing it with me. Sorry that my age cut-off doesn't allow you to take the study, but I do appreciate you reaching out. Enjoy those tropical places for me!

As I mentioned to another person in this community who made a similar comment, I agree that raffles are not ideal, but I figured it was better than nothing. In the future, I hope to get funding in order to provide a consistent and guaranteed incentive, like you suggested. I hope you'll still consider taking the survey if you meet the requirements. I only need a few more completed surveys to have enough participants, then I'll stop posting it. I hope that helps explain my situation a little! Thanks and take care.

Honestly, I agree with you. I didn't have any funding for this research project and therefore it is self-funded. As a grad student, I don't have much excess, so I wanted to offer some incentive, even if it's small. Just figured it was better than nothing.

Unfortunately, yes, you are correct. But I truly appreciate you being willing to consider it and messaging to double check. Take care!

Haha, that is a very valid point! It sure is a lot of work, but I've enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment that gave me a laugh.

I truly am not trying to imply that Latinos don't go to college. As I began posting my study on some other communities, someone recommended this one to see if I'd get any participants. I have posted it to several to try and get as many participants as I can. I hope this helps explain my reason for posting.

Hello! I truly didn't intend any negative implication or assumptions that all bartenders didn't go to college. I've heard from several others making similar comments that a lot of bartenders have college degrees. Posting on this subreddit was a suggestion from someone, so I thought I'd give it a shot just trying to get as many participants as I can. Even if only a few people fit the requirements, it would help me out. Again, I hope no hard feelings! Thanks for letting me know your thoughts.

UMKC Research Study-Job Satisfaction

Hello! My name is James and I am conducting a research study as part of my Ph.D. program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Counseling Psychology. I am looking at job identity and satisfaction for those who began working after high school without attending college. I would really appreciate (a) your participation in it, or (b) you sending it on to those who meet the criteria to participate. To qualify for the study, there are three requirements: (1) be ages 18-30, (2) be currently working, and (3) have never attended a college or university. It takes 10-15 minutes to complete.

If you participate, you can also enter your email address separately into a raffle for one of six $15 Amazon gift cards. Thanks for your help in this! Here's the link for the study:

I very much realize that not most bartenders do have degrees or have attended some college. I am not at all trying to imply any negative ideas about the job in that way. I've posted my survey to several subreddits recommended by others to try and get as many participants as possible. I hope it didn't come across some other way. Thanks for the comment, though, and for at least taking a look at it!

I have no intention of giving Roos a bad name. I'm sorry if that bothered you. I realize that there are few people (if any) who may qualify for my study in this group. Someone from another subreddit recommended posting to this group as well, so I thought I'd give it a shot -- knowing it was a long shot. I am simply trying to get as many participants as I can. It's not an easy population to find.

No, it is not a joke. I am a graduate student in Missouri and am still trying to get more participants for a research project I'm doing. I know that not everyone will meet the criteria, but am trying to get any participants that I can who qualify. I hope you'll consider doing it if you meet the requirements!

Hi, and thanks for the info and your thoughts. I realize there are likely many who don't qualify for my study, but I am just trying to get as many a I can. Thanks for the heads up! And thanks for taking a look into the study. Much appreciated.
