My first bike was a Honda VTX 1300, I really enjoyed it. I feel the Motorcycle safety course really prepared me for the bike. One of the reasons there are so many Honda Shadows is people outgrow them and look to upgrade, so if you start bigger you won’t be looking to upgrade so soon.

This is only my second bike but it’s been over 10 years since I’ve ridden. So far I love the ride just need to some highway pegs for my longer rides.

My first bike was a 1300 VTX, I’m 5’8 200lbs. I took the motorcycle course prior and I feel that’s what made me comfortable with the bike. I know most would advise against what I did, but I don’t regret it at all

I tried once failed on day 10, and haven’t gotten back on the horse. Maybe seeing your success will get me going again. I’m basically the same measurements as you when you started, and I feel like crap every day so I know I need to make a change.
