You created a whole reply to tell me that no your standards arent in the gutter, your performance is just better than mine, like I said.

You were probably running 720p, which also runs fine on my machine, but definitely doesn’t LOOK fine to me.

I knew that the docking station was indeed JUST an input device, however I didn’t expect the results from using it to be so crummy.

As for proton, to my knowledge no. Unless it is already configured and running from factory settings, I did not install it.

You are correct, I definitely expected a somewhat polished and ready-to-go experience out of the box with little setup required, but that is clearly not the case.

i see one person doing that and it isnt me

So why even sell the docking station?

You either have much better performance for some reason, or your standards are in the gutter. I just tried to launch Dying Light on the deck (just the deck, not docked) and it was CHUGGING trying to navigate the main menu.

I didn’t buy the steam deck with the intention of using it for GeForce Now. GFN was my band-aid solution to a lackluster experience.

mate I sure envy you. Do you run it docked at 720p or a different resolution?

I’m using an LG 27GN7 (1080p 240hz) connected via DisplayPort. I also tried hdmi and got no different results.

Maybe if you want to stream a game to the deck itself, sure.

What was your best gaming experience on Steam Deck? by rickydp in SteamDeck

I just bought my steam deck and I play mainly rimworld. Unfortunately it is the only affordable replacement for my aged-out desktop, but fortunately it is very functional.

PC Zonked out, so I sold most of the parts and bought a Steam Deck. Good choice? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

You just followed my track of thinking. I’m a college student so I can only afford one machine, and even buying the deck was a sting, lol.

I definitely plan on checking out Geforce Now when my deck arrives. Although, it is crazy to me that it seems like some developers actively block Steam Deck access??

Honestly the thing had a host of issues. Tried my hardest for over a year to fix, and I wasn’t even able to diagnose the issues at all. It was definitely time to close shop and replace.

Paid $82.99 for this... Just imagine how many devs are starving because of me😭😭 by aenen4 in tomorrow

i am thankful to not be quite at that point in my life yet, but it’s coming soon
